Report: Obamacare penalty regressive, will cost most uninsured at least $1,000

The penalty imposed by the Affordable Care Act on citizens who elect not to purchase health insurance will be at least $1,000 for most people, and more than $12,000 for high-income earners, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation.

We can see that this is a big tax, particularly on the poor, writes the Tax Foundations William McBride. Higher income families generally pay a higher amount, but actually a smaller percent of their income, making this a regressive tax.

For example, the penalty for a family of four earning $20,000 will be $2,085, more than 10 percent of its income, according to the Tax Foundation  whereas a family of four making $100,000 will only have two percent of its income taken away by the government.

So this new tax will come down hard on the poor and middle class and have little effect on the rich. Sort of what the Democrats screamed the Bush Tax Cuts did!

WH Communications director Dan Pfeiffer called out Charles Krauthammer because "Krauthammer today recycles the false rumor that POTUS gave back the bust of Winston Churchill."
Here's what Pfeiffer wrote: "Lately, there’s been a rumor swirling around about the current location of the bust of Winston Churchill. Some have claimed that President Obama removed the bust of Winston Churchill from the Oval Office and sent it back to the British Embassy.

Now, normally we wouldn’t address a rumor that’s so patently false, but just this morning the Washington Post’s Charles Krauthammer repeated this ridiculous claim in his column. He said President Obama “started his Presidency by returning to the British Embassy the bust of Winston Churchill that had graced the Oval Office.”

This is 100% false. The bust still in the White House (sic). In the Residence. Outside the Treaty Room."

When you’re going to write a “fact check” article or blog post, you might want to, you know, check your facts. We know that this is usually an extremely difficult task for the Obama White House.

LOL!!) had to say about the Churchill bust: 'A British Embassy spokesman said: “The bust of Sir Winston Churchill by Sir Jacob Epstein was uniquely lent to a foreign head of state, President George W Bush, from the Government Art Collection in the wake of 9/11 as a signal of the strong transatlantic relationship.

“It was lent for the first term of office of President Bush. When the President was elected for his second and final term, the loan was extended until January 2009.

“The new President has decided not to continue this loan and the bust has now been returned. It is on display at the Ambassador’s Residence.“"

You are WRONG again, Wynbish; there were no spelling errors in my post. A spelling error is when one does not spell a word correctly because they are unfamiliar with the word's correct spelling. Since I had already spelled the word "truth" correctly in that very post, it is obvious that I knew how to spell that word. What you are referring to is a TYPO.

Why do I want Romney to be President?
Let's see. There are TWO people running for President in 2012. One of them is a KNOWN failure and the other is a known SUCCESS.

You say he brought the economic recovery to a halt. It's more accurate to say he brought the economic meltdown started by the previous administration to a halt.
But hey...at least you admit he started the economic recovery. That's a step in the right direction.
