As anyone with a dog knows, I will be spending a certain amount of time romping in the snow and then picking hardened ice-chunks out of my dogs' paws.
But in between the good times, I'm planning some focussed movie-watching.
Anybody else curating personal film festivals?
What's on tap?
I'm in a '50's sudsy-melodrama kinda mood. I was thinking of maybe screening some Douglas Sirk classics:
ALL THAT HEAVEN ALLOWS
MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION
THE TARNISHED ANGELS
WRITTEN ON THE WIND
and
IMITATION OF LIFE
and then I'll top it off with a wanna-be Sirk camp-fest:
ALL THE FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS

Yes, a friend of mine is coming over in a bit for dinner (which I'm making) and with her she's bringing an assortment of this year's screeners for us to watch.
Well, my guy and I had tickets to TALLEY'S FOLLY tonight but the performance was cancelled, so...we're planning to have a nice dinner at one of the many lovely, open restaurants on our block, then come home and choose something On Demand.
I rented FLIGHT from Redbox, Bill Maher is on HBO tonight and Seamless is still delivering so I'm all set.
I still have 3 movies I recorded (Yes, that is correct) and haven't watched yet. They are Tangled, Funny Girl, and Invitation to the Dance. There might be another Gene Kelly movie too that I don't remember.

Reporters In The Snow Reporters in The Snow. All I see is reporters in the snow. Maybe I'll listen to some old Doors music.
Cabernet.
TJ's Rosemary/Raisin Crackers.
French Comte.
"Taxi Driver"
"Once Upon a Time in America"
Jim Cantore, if he wants to drop over.
Jordan, I heard Flight is really good. We went out to dinner and now we are getting ready to watch Shark Tank. The kid loves that show.
FLIGHT *is* good!! Now my friends have foiled my plans and want to watch Les Miserables...*sigh*...Les Miz it is...

I seem to be in a dour mood today. First it was Law & Order: SVU all day on Netflix, then Muriel's Wedding, now in the middle of Black Swan. I'm going to need to lighten it up a bit or I may not make it through the blizzard.
Beast Of The Southern Wild all set to watch followed by Real Time.
Oooooh I wanna see that film! I know a friend who's got (shhh) a screener....so I'm going to ask him to hook me up...
Meanwhile back at the ranch "the kiddies" (read: my friends) are watching "Les Mis".....I'm just busy on BWW via iPad...LOL.
Knitted a scarf while watching The Kennedys miniseries on Netflix.

Jeez--Glinda's post makes me feel even dirtier when I report an un-scheduled bit of Blizzard Booty (My dog run is a DOG run...) and now I'm home eating an Edy's Ice Pop (pomegranate) and getting ready to watch 'Strictly Ballroom'.
Now that there is more snow at my house, I wish I had someone to go drunk sledding with.
We watched Zero dark 30 first. Are you kidding me?
then we put in Skyfall which I'm still watching . Big Javier Bardem fan!
I took Henry to see Skyfall............my husband didn't think I should have taken him but whatever. He was glued to his seat the whole time. Non-stop.
Yeah, SKYFALL was big on violence and unlike the old (and better) Bond films, low on sex.
Stay warm, everybody! Sending warm wishes from the South.
We only got about 6 inches of snow here. So, I will dig my car out later today in hopes of being able to go and get something for dinner later. I live about 1/4 of a mile up a hill and nothing is within reasonable walking distance, like a mile or less.

NYC got off easy, all things considered. Today was beautiful.
