This classic 1938 screwball comedy is to be released on DVD for the first time this coming Tuesday. Thoughts?

Mrs. Random: Well, you look perfectly idiotic in those clothes.
David Huxley: These aren't my clothes.
Mrs. Random: Well, where are your clothes?
David Huxley: I've lost my clothes!
Mrs. Random: But why are you wearing *these* clothes?
David Huxley: Because I just went gay all of a sudden!

Another movie I always mean to watch, but never have.

It's a fun movie if you can get past the awful special effects. It's obvious that the leopard is never actually on screen with the stars.
It truly is a classic. I'm so glad the DVD is finally coming out. I pre-ordered it in, like, December.

I LOVE this movie. I think is was one of the first Cary Grant movies I ever saw as a little girl, and it was love at first sight.
"David the leopard!"
there is a leopard on your roof and it's my leopard and i have to get it and to get it i have to sing.
i can't give you anything but love, baby...
"But why are you wearing these clothes?"
"Because I just went gay all of a sudden!"
I think what's interesting to note is that WHAT'S UP, DOC? is a virtual remake of BRINGING UP BABY--even to Ryan O'Neal wearing the same type of horn-rimmed glasses that Cary Grant does.
yeah what's up doc was originally more like bringing up baby and called something like "the eye of the tiger" or something and was elliot gould's project. it went through a lot of script changes before it got to babs and became what's up doc- but bring up baby is a million times funnnier! and the lepoard was on screen with katharine sometimes, i think. obviously not the whole time but they did do scenes together. i love when cary falls off the ladder and the dino fossils collapse...
No, Feinstein9, it's not exactly true. It was called "The Eye Of The Tiger" and was Gould's project alright, but it was a totally different script. Only when Peter Bogdanovich had Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal, he decided to turn it into a homage to "Bringing Up Baby". I think it came out alright in the end..
I do love "Bringing Up Baby" so. It's one of the best.
I'm really glad it's coming out on DVD -I already have my other favorite screwball comedy, "The Awful Truth", on DVD, and now all I need is for someone to issue "My Favorite Wife"and I'll be set.
This is a hilariuos movie. I am not a big Hepburn fan, but I love her in this one.

I just want to say, there is a scene in Dirty Rotten that reminds me very much of this movie.
30s movies are pretty good. Screwball comedies: Some Like It Hot and 1,2,3. are very funny. never seen Baby
