This looks like a beautiful movie...remember folks, sex isn't everything!
(where is that damn rolling eyes smiley? I need to post it to show B11 that I know damn well sex isn't everything and that I am more excited about this film artistically than seeing two hot cowboys get jigg wit it)
This movie does look amazing.
To me the challenge, as a striaght actor, when playing a gay character is to make it truthful.
As much as I hate to say it most straight guys still think of the stereotypical, flamboyant feminine man when they think of gay men and to think of a gay person as "normal" is rediculous.
Looking at clips from this movie I can see that Lee and the actors both wanted to make these characters true. They didn't find a need to have the cowboys singing showtunes while riding in the wilderness, they made them REAL men who just happened to be in love with each other.

Though that would have been fun, too.

I wonder how long it will take Mr. McConaughey to see this movie.
LOL! DG we are going Sunday to see it at the Grove. Wanna join? There will be like 20 of us.

You have NO idea how much I would love to! There's a reading that we're doing of a friend's new play, though
Well. It is late afternoon. Pm me tomorrow if you want the info. This will be my second time seeing this movie. I found it to be so beautiful. I think nothing else comes close to it this year. And I do hope it gets the Oscar.

Well, I HAVE to see it - I'm drawn like a moth to a flame. But I REALLY didn't like the story she wrote (and it wasn't just because I didn't like her writing style!) I get that it's worth showing the pain that restrictions can cause - but dammit, I just want them to ride off into the sunset together! I'm a romantic that way
Yeah. But I think reality is more effective in the movie.
I also wanted to add that you probaly should not see this movie up by where you live. I saw it at a sag screening and even there a few people gave yucks or made noises during certain moments.

Please, we don't see ANYTHING out here! We'll probably see it at Arclight (starts the 13th) or maybe in Pasadena.
That's VERY disappointing about the SAG screening - I would expect better
at a SAG screening????
People are amazing. pathetic. immature. ridiculous. and probably got turned on at the same time.
Yep. But I must say they were quieted down very quickly and generally the audience loved and embraced the film.
