I'm not sure if it's up next week or not, but were I in Chicago I'd be at Windy City Actor's show with bells on. Nothing but bells on.
Hi Namo. Isn't this early for you?
Yes, A DUBLIN BLOOM, (Irish Rep @ Victory Gardens Theatre)starring WindyCityActor will be running.

I saw the production of PARADE wich is transfering to a larger venue this week. It is a very strong production. It IS non-equity if that matters to you.

Oh wow, according to that MetroMix listing linked by Sueleen: Second City is now doing another Shakespeare musical. I saw their "Hamlet! The Musical!" a few summers ago and I LOVVVVED it to pieces. This year, it's "Second City's Romeo and Juliet Musical: The People vs. Friar Laurence, The Man Who Killed Romeo and Juliet."
:::Songs include "Why Say `Wherefore' Instead of `Why'?," and the affecting "Oh What a Pity, I'm Dead.":::
Were I there, I would be there. And also at WindyCityActors's show.
Oh, and SIDETRACK is the video bar.
Will check both out. What night is showtune night at Sidetracks?
If you love Thai cuisine, I have found Arun's to be outstanding. They will serve a high end custom designed meal for you and your party. Take a cab.

I'm going to see WindyCityActor's "A Dublin Bloom" tomorrow night. Also in town are productions of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Anyone Can Whistle, and a bizarre but fascinating show my mother took me to see (she's visiting this week) at Lookinglass called The Shaggs: The Philosophy of Life. It's the true story of three sisters who became possibly the worst rock band ever and recorded an album that resurfaced 15 years later and was hailed by Rolling Stone as the "Comeback Band of the Year". Zappa claimed they were "better than the Beatles". I heard one of the original tracks and I think Zappa was referring to one of his chem-induced hallucinations that he mistook for the actual band. The Shaggs were indeed completely AWFUL, but the majority of the music in the show is original and quite good.

I had The Shaggs album on vinyl. Recently a colleague and I managed to get the song "Who Are Parents?" stuck in our brains even tho neither of us had heard the album in two decades. Oop. It's back now. Thanks Matt.
No prob Namo. Was your copy the original printing? It's been known to sell for around $500 now. There were supposed to be 1000 copies printed of the original release, but only 100 ever showed up.

No, it was the reissue. Something tells me Rhino was involved.
"Who ah pawents?"
Zola,
I am staying with a fellow hussy in the heart of boys town for one part of the trip and then in some hussylicious Best Western in boys town for the other part. I can stay at a really nice hotel on my agencies tab; but I prefer to go where the boys are :)
I've been to that Best Western, baby. A good time was had by all.
And that's all I'm gonna say on that issue.
This will be my third time at that BW. And all those times a good time was had by all too!
Namo - If Rhino didn't produce the reissue, then it looks like they posed for the cover. Yikes!

DAME, I don't know if they are doing anything right now, but my buddy is closely involved with Defiant Theater, who does very physical, irreverent, rock-n-rolly kind of shows. Definitely check it out.
Oh, and if Sarah Hays is in The Shaggs show, then it's worth seeing. Went to NCSA with that hussy!
Borstal;
I will check them out.
Dear Dame,
You may be interested in knowing that there is an industry night on Wednesday, June 9th for my play, "A Dublin Bloom." The comps will be on a "first come, first served" basis. I don't know if you have to show any type of proof (headshot/resume) that you are an actor, designer, etc.
I just found out that the performances for the rest of this week are completely sold out! So, I wasn't able to get Mr. Matt the comps that I hoped to have.
There are a few productions photos found at the theatre website:
