Brd - tell him that Mayans were really predictimg the end of finals.
You - I bet it's pretty, though.
Brd, tell them the Mayans were just talking about Zander.
Moony - I need a sitcom "Oh Zander..."
Work has been quiet. Today is the holiday party. Monday is a short day.
Happy Holidays everyone.
My gift - I get to see Deet tomorrow night!

Actually it is the condition of our house! So much work tomorrow before our guests arrive. I am taking most of next week off! Yay!
G'morning.
Yesterday was glorious. It would have been a great way to end. But we didn't, so here's to a whole new world of possibilities!
I just have to say how glorious it was to sleep in and snuggle under the covers while the rain and wind swirled around the house.
Unfortunately, the rain did a number on some of the towns still recovering from Sandy.
Deet, are we ever going to hear details of that tumultuous dinner from the other night?

Y, I was going to ask the same question!
My local theater has a 10PM showing of Les Mis Christmas Eve, and an 8:50 showing Christmas Day. I will be at one of those two shows!

We plan on going on Thursday!
Amazon is delivering the soundtrack today - I know what I will be listening to tonight!
I am not sure why I am so freaking giddy to see this movie...

For me, that was one of the first score that I learned almost every word. I also did a killer "Bring Him Own" at a local piano bar for years!
I just got a $25 Amazon Gift card in the White Elephant exchange.
Not too shabby!

Not that I think that many peeps will be stopping by here today, but just in case, I thought I'd start the holiday greetings off. Merry Christmas Eve to those who celebrate and happy post-apocalyptic solstice to everyone else!
I have to return to the madhouse, otherwise known as the grocery store, this morning, then wrapping gifts. Hosting a small dinner party before Midnight Mass. I hope the rain holds off!
*the cows in their angel outfits bring egg nog*
I went to Trader Joe's last night, and barely made it out alive.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate - and to those of us who don't - Happy Les Mis screening!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

My office is literally comatose. We close early - otherwise I think folks might just fall asleep!
Hey Kansas - Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas to my chosen family! It's after midnight, so it's officially the day.
Excellent and eventful day, got the show funded, went to a party and scored a Star Trek collectible pizza slicer in the white elephant gift exchange (double score because we weren't planning to partake and didn't bring a present but they somehow had too many.)
In the morning brunch with friends, no plans later yet. Les Miz on Wednesday with dear friends.
Back from seeing Les Miz, and am perplexed by the whole thing. I will be interested in hearing others opinions, but I fear that if you are not very familiar with the source material that you would be completely lost. And, so many close ups that I got a headache...
Some strong points, but a bit underwhelmed.
Morning peeps! It seems us adults tookna hiatus from BWW. Well I'm trying to take one from life. I need a break.
G'morning.
We're getting somewhat back to normal -- Max is still a little shell-shocked and clingy, and being the prissy little thing that he is refused to go outside yesterday (can't say that I blame him.)
We're seeing "Les Miserables" on Saturday night. Having seen and loved it back in the 80s, and having read it a couple of times, I'm looking forward to it. I'm surprised J2 wants to go: he saw it right before it closed and, predictably, hated it. (Tunes, you know.)
It may be a longer evening than we're anticipating.

'Morning, all!
We saw Les Mis on Christmas night. LOVED IT. Hubby had tears in his eyes from the beginning to the end. There's a number of little things you can point to if you want to dislike it, but I decided to overlook them and revel in the the bigger picture. The only exception being Amanda Seyfried's singing voice. I cringed every time she opened her mouth, but so far I'm the only one I know who had reacted that way, so just could be my aging ears.
Her voice actually bothered me less than it did in Mama Mia. I think this score was more suited to her voice (which I find to be pretty annoying as well - too fast of a vibrato and pretty tinny).
I attempted to see it but I guess it was just not meant to be. I'm gonna try to check out the matinee tomorrow but we shall see if I wake up.
Other than the stack of movies collecting dust I watched, I have been so unproductive this vacation! but on the other hand, I have never had such deep intense sleeps in months so going with it.
I loved Les Miz - and I concur, Amanda Seyfried's voice made me cringe.
jS - who is not a big musical fan and hates over-emotive maudlin anything, actually really liked it. I don't think he would have had the same reaction to the stage show.
In other news, rejoined a gym today. It's on my drive to work, so no more excuses. Just need to get moving during the dreary winter months. I also got a great deal - paying the same monthly fee I was paying 5 years ago at the same gym (LA Fitness), it will never go up, and I now have nationwide gym access (which I didn't before.)
