Morning peeps! Got to watch some movies this weekend. Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club and American Hustle. Loved Captain Phillips, amazing performances. Dallas Buyers Club and American Hustle were both "okay" Neither thrilled me. I'm not sure why the hell Jennifer Lawrence got a nomination for her role in AH. I must have missed something.

BTW I was elected yesterday to the Vestry of my church.

It's 37 degrees out side this morning - a veritable heat wave! Short day here (sort of). Classes are out at 1:00pm then we have a 3 hour professional workshop we all have to attend. I'm bringing an ipad to get through the boring parts.

The ex-cellmate hadn't seen DBC, and was texting me last night, that her mother just told her how good she thought it was, and the ex-cellmate was pissed cause it's not playing anywhere by her. Since that's one I'd seen already, I brought it in for her. Cause that's the kind of nice person I am.

It's going to be a balmy 41 today. Can't wait!

Oh, and Boobs, I forgot to tell you yesterday, that my hood latch IS inside the car. It's further up and back, and I missed it when I looked for it previously. But, something had to have been frozen, cause the washers worked fine on Saturday. I didn't check the levels, though.

Thanks, Moony. It's an excited time being we will be choosing a new Pastor to serve our church. The one we have right now is just an interim. We have 9 candidates to choose from. Our Search group will visit and interview the candidates at their present churches and then we will make out decision. Hopefully by the Spring we will have a new Pastor.

It's funny that when we went over the budget yesterday only 1 group brought in more than they projected for 2 years in a row. Yes, the theatre group. They now raised the projected budget for them this year. I have faith we'll beat it again. We're doing "Night Mother" next month. "Jesus Christ Superstar" in June, "Macbeth" in October and then "It's a Wonderful Life" in December.

Didn't get to catch up on any movies this weekend, but did see the first 2 episodes of True Detective on HBO. Not bad. Will keep watching. otherwise a very very low key weekend which is all I need right now. Got to finally see Mr. Happy pretty tipsy on Friday night and he may be the most adorable drunk I've ever seen. Complete opposite of me, lol.

3 weeks until Italy!!! I'm now hitting paranoid nervous stage.

His birthday is 3 days after I get back so yeah, gotta find something special!

I'm calling the agent today to book a few tours. We decided on the Murano/Burano tour when in venice. A Chianti wine tasting tour in Florence. and then the official Vatican/etc tour in Rome. I also found a free evening walking tour in Rome which will be pretty cool.

Congrats Boobs - they have chosen a good man, which in my book, means your church must be fantastic!

Life is getting back to normal in casa YWIW. Getting ready for a superbowl shin dig this Sunday with many of those who would normally come for New Years Eve.

Work is Work - but hey, someone's gotta do it - until I marry a sugar daddy or win the lottery!

BTW - mom is doing great. And, I have become Saint YWIW, so I should be free of criticism for at least a week!

And Tink, I have a feeling if you just bring yourself back with a wee bit of Italian spice, he will be good! The trip sounds fantastic!

brd, I'm looking forward to seeing "Night Mother" because the actress playing the daughter was wonderful in our production of "Our Town", she played the narrator. I am hoping to return to the stage in this production of JCS.

Done for the day.
Successfully avoided being selected for a case that is expected to go into 3 weeks.
I have to go back tomorrow, but if I'm not selected, I'll be done. Fingers crossed!

(Not that I don't mind my civic duty. I do. I've served on juries. I just don't want to do it NOW!)

Hey kids. I so hate not being able to come here until I'm home.

Glad to hear that your civic duty turned out the way it did, Addy. You've got enough on your plate.

My doctors appt. that was canceled last week due to the snow is finally happening tomorrow morning. My breathing is still not so great. Hopefully some answers tomorrow.

'Morning! Not loving the wind chill factor today. We're letting the students wear sweats to school today instead of their uniforms. The buildings are toasty-warm, though, so they'll probably complain that they're too hot - they are teenagers, after all.

Addy - hope you don't get on a trial that lasts too long - you've got travel plans!

Good chilly morning to you all! So glad I didn't have to go to this big meeting in the city cause I would not want to be walking around today!! Stay warm Boobs!!!

Booked Murano and Chianti tours last night!! One step closer. And was simultaneously singing Chess (wrong Murano but still) and Light in the Piazza all evening. Thankfully the cats learned long ago to just shrug their shoulders and pay no mind to me.

Today we switch gears and go back to bridal shower planning.
