'Morning! Back in school and on time. So much to catch up on!
Morning peeps! I hope all you Christians stop by a church today for ashes. I was a good boy and stopped on my way into the office.
Morning.
I haven't gotten ashes in many years. I prayed in enough churches the past few weeks that I filled my quota for the next year lol.
Happy Wednesday! I really hope this lingering headache goes away before my annoying afternoon meetings.

Boobs was at my favorite church! I tried to stop in there on my last visit to NYC, but there was a wedding in progress. We're supposed to have mass @ 9:30 this morning, but the priest is running late so we're pushing everything back by a half hour.
Moony, I did not realize how beautiful it is inside. It was the first time I walked through the doors. The tall priest in his plain white robe was a little scary standing like a statue on the alter. I thought it was a mannequin at first. The church has a great presence. A calm filled over me as I walked in. I wish I had more time to kneel and pray. Another day.

You know the story of that church, right? Danny Thomas and his promise to St Jude?
No Moony I don't, please enlighten me.
Mornin'
I used to stop into St. Malachy's when I worked in Worldwide Plaza. Beautiful church.

"St. Malachy's has been home to many notable actors: Douglas Fairbanks married Joan Crawford at St. Malachy's. Herb Shriner's children were baptized here. Thousands jammed West 49th Street outside the church in final tribute to Rudolph Valentino. George M. Cohan, Spencer Tracy, Perry Como, Irene Dunne, Hildegarde, Florence Henderson, Elaine Stritch, Lawrence Luckinbill, Rosiland Russell, Danny Thomas, Bob and Dolores Hope and Ricardo Montalban, all worshipped at St. Malachy's. Fred Allen, Don Ameche, Cyril Ritchard, Pat O'Brien and Jimmy Durante served many a mass."
Danny Thomas' career was not going well and he was having trouble supporting his family. He stopped into St. Malacy's and prayed in front of their statue of St. Jude. According to him, he said, "They say that you're the saint for hopeless cases and I'm as hopeless as they come. If you point me in the direction to go, I will build you a shrine to honor you." Shortly there after,he got an offer from a club in Chicago - where he was making $500 a week. He stopped into a church there to say a prayer of thanksgiving and when he sat down on the pew, there was a big flyer with a picture of St. Jude. He took it as a sign and remembered his promise. The flyer was for a fundraiser for sick children and he decided to take up that cause instead of building a shrine.
Great story Moony! Many woman pray to St. Jude when they can't conceive. Once they do and have a girl they name her "Judy" in honor of him. I know my Aunt did. Danny went the extra mile and took care of all children. What a legacy.

Love that story! One of Mrs. Brd's strange gigs in her past was helping Marlo Thomas learn her lines for a play in Chicago.
I had a dream that I was auditioning for Hello Dolly. I had no resume and no headshot and sang Corner of the Sky - I did remember the words and I was trying to figure out in my dream how much of the song would be only "16 bars"
And, yes I do have gas pains after a carb fest last night!
brd were you audition for the role of Dolly? BTW "Corner of the Sky" is my go to audition song. It kind of became my signature song after a while.
Sorry about those gas pains. Don;t hold back...let 'em rip!

BB - I won the bet with myself - I knew you would say that about Dolly. Bizarre casting, I played the judge in a community production of Dolly in high school. I was the only student and was nominated for an award! (I was very funny!) The leads were all African American and the Dolly was OUTSTANDING! Loved the production.
So you were in the Pearl Bailey production of Dolly?

They had pancake races down the main aisle of the National Cathedral in DC yesterday. A 12 year-old boy won!

Mouse secretary was hit by car she could walk away, but is at the hospital. She was able to call me a few times, but I do not know her condition. I assume she has some bruises.
Jeez how the hell did that happen?
