I've loved following your stories and photos on Facebook! I loved Venice, but, we had beautiful weather, so I know that helped. Florence/Tuscany is to die for (can't wait to go back this September), and Rome is fascinating with the many layers of history and culture... And, oh, the Amalfi coast. Romance, romance, romance. *sigh*
Welcome home! SO thrilled that you had such a fabulous trip. We missed you!
YWIW, the weather in your area is crazy. The news reports this morning were really daunting with the amount of rain expected. Be careful! (I hope they go ahead and tent the red carpet for Sunday... but it will be fun to see who withstands bad hair weather!)
Girly, I usually just get emails from places letting me know if there is free shipping. I wonder if there's a website that shares codes?
Boobs, hope you're doing something fun to watch the Academy Awards on Sunday! Enjoy!

Hilarious! Oh, young love! I have to figure out what to do for someone's 50th who is all over the place as to what she wants! The girls will be in town so that will be nice. Maybe just a nice family dinner at the Club!
hahaha love it Boobs! :) he will be 33 so it kinda works.
Addy - You were all there with me in spirit and thought of often! I said a prayer in each major church for everyone and their families. I only threw one coin in the Trevi Fountain. I felt throwing two would be selfish since I already have love, and am not ready for marriage which is the third coin. I'll just stick to hoping to go back again!

You are correct, Boobs! 1 is return to Rome, 2 is for love and 3 is for marriage.
I am still so far behind in the nominated movies. I saw Wolf of Wall street, inside Llewyn Davis and Her. Then on the plane yesterday I watched Blue Jasmine and Enough Said.

I am happy to say I have now seen all nominated movies and then some. My tops are, in no particular order... Philomena Captain Phillips 12 Years a Slave The Wolf of Wall Street

I'm behind, as well, this year. (It's so much harder now that there are so many nominations!)
Tink, now you have to catch up on viewing all the great old movies (and some not-so-old) that were filmed in those cities and Italy, in general! So many great films to see!
Roman Holiday Summertime Under the Tuscan Sun A Room with a View Three Coins in the Fountain Talented Mr. Ripley La Dolce Vita It Started in Naples Come September A Little Romance ...the list goes on and on!
"Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. . ."
How could I forget favorite animated film???? FROZEN!!!!
To add to Addy's list you must watch "Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell" with Gina Lollobrigida which was the premise for "Mamma Mia" BTW Ms. Lollobrigida shares her birthday with Moony.

Glad the snow mostly passed us by in NYC. How are those of you in DC and Jersey doing? Stay warm and inside. No more slipping!
Had such fun watching the Oscars last night. Next year I'm having a party. It's been a while, and always have fun celebrating with friends. I'm still laughing at some of the stuff in the show last night. I was highly entertained.
"Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. . ."
Morning peeps! Not sure how I'm going to make it through this day. Stayed up until the end of the Oscars. Couldn't fall asleep. Finally fell asleep around 2 or so. At 2:30 Frankie decided he needed to go out. Of course all 3 went out. Joop played her "I'm not coming in" game. I turned the yard lights off and headed back to bed. I knew I couldn't sleep with her out there. Went back and she was by the door. She came in. I got back in bed at 3:45. Alarm went off at 4:30 and here I am at my desk. Luckily we didn't get too much snow by me. Just enough that HC will have to shovel a little to get his car out. Actually he'll be able to just push it unless it built up after I left. It was flurrying by then.
I'm still laughing about Adela Dazeem. I wonder if Travolta ever apologized to her. Idina seemed confused. I think she thought someone else was going on for her. lol My 3 favorite speeches of the night were Jared,Lupita and Matthew. I thought Cate's speech would be eloquent, but I found it rather confusing. She was all over the place. Why she felt the need to speak about Australia and their wonderful actors is beyond me. We know all this already. It's evident in the awards given to her and her fellow countrymen.
One more rant before I disappear. People need to realize that our FB pages are not BWW. I don't appreciate people who go on my page and start bringing negativity into it. If you disagree with something my friends or I say just ignore it and move on. Believe me there are things I see people post and I don't respond to because it's their page and they have the right to say what they want. Of course we have friends, like Girly, that it's our "thing" to say smarky remarks to "each other". I don't have sarcasm with her friends. The reason I bring this up is because I have a cousin with down syndrome. She just turned 16 and so her Mom allowed her to have a FB page which she monitors. She can only be friends with family. Well she loves Ellen. She posted how funny Ellen is on my page being she was watching the Oscars. Someone went in and said "It's her writers." Instead of keeping his negative feelings about Ellen to himself. He has the right to dislike who he wants as we all do, but you don't need to post it on MY page when all other comments about her are positive there. What bothers me is he upset a very special girl to me. He made her feel like she wrote something wrong. All I'm saying is you need to be careful when posting on someone's FB page if you don't know all their friends. Words can be misunderstood and feeling hurt. *end rant*

My rule on FB is that I only post on threads started by people I know. I don't engage with those I don't know, and I see no real reason for negativity. It's one thing to be snarky here (although, lighten up and keep it fun!), but FB is 'real life' and needs to be respected and protected.
"Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. . ."
I do the same Addy. I usually just "like" things others say that I truly don't know. Believe me there are many things my family and friends say on FB that I can disagree, but why bother? It's their right to voice their opinions. Although some make me embarrassed by their ignorance. Still their right.
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

And, I suppose that philosophy extends beyond FB. It's really just a general approach to life. Have your opinions, but approach others in life with respect.
Hope you can get home right on time so you can catch up on some sleep tonight. I was keyed up so couldn't fall asleep for a while, so am dragging a bit today. Fortunately, I have no plans this evening so can come right home and curl up.
"Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. . ."
Someone got carried away with the Ellen hate last night. Someone would be better off eating steak.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)
Good morning, kids. I'll give Girly something to snark about ... snow day! ... and we only got a dusting in Trenton. I did not see a single movie all year. I know, I'm odd. I did stay up for the end of the awards since I could sleep in.
Hi Poddie! I am happy to say I saw every nominated movie and Actor/Actress. I was pleased with the outcome too. The Best Actor category had me torn between Matthew & Leo. I believe Leo will still get his statute if he keeps making the movies he does. Sorry Philomena didn't win any awards.
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

The best part of this snow day was just watching Lupita on Kelly and Michael. J'adore Miss Nyong'o! And, I am now deeply madly in lust with Michael Strahan.
awwww, Strahan is my all time favorite Giants player! So happy he will be inducted in Hall of Fame this year. I met him at a local best buy once and he was nice as can be!
BroadwayBoobs: I'll give all of you who weren't there a hint of who took the pictures ...it rhymes with shameless
I'm sad to say that I didn't see any of the nominated films this year. At some point I'll see them on demand. I did enjoy the show, nonetheless.
Regarding FB: I consider FB pages to be the online equivalent of people's living rooms. If you wouldn't be sarcastic, snarky or disagreeable to someone's friend who was visiting in their home, it would be terribly rude to do so on thier page.
