Years ago I set up a silent auction when I was the chair of the United Way Campaign for the company. Lots of hard work - but we got each department (we were a much bigger group then) to submit baskets that each could bid on. My former, former boss was quite a wine lover, so of course, ours had some amazing wine and accessories... somehow, we got some signed LA sports jerseys donated, lots of interesting stuff, and well, some junk. But folks had a great time. Get something good Moony!
And Boobs, next year we will be calling you the Auction Boss!

I helped organize or donate to many an auction between schools, fire departments and then when I worked for TrimSpa. I miss it, but then I see what has gone into planning this bridal shower for next weekend and I remember, ehhh, maybe not.

No Schwimmer sightings. They started loading out this morning. Both elevators. At 7:30. Prime time. I told Max to just go ahead and pee in the elevator.
He's a good dog, though, and he held it until he got in front of the Jehovah's Witness next door.

Busy weekend mixed with sadness. After 16 1/2 years my sons mother had to put their dog, Harry, to sleep on Saturday. As you can imagine she is devastated. Junior doesn't even know yet being he is working in Vegas and we don't want to upset him while he's there. I didn't even post a picture on FB in fear he'd see. Most of you may not know, but I adopted Harry originally. I named him after Prince Harry being Diana's death was still fresh in my mind when our Harry was born. The ex and my sons fell in love when they met him and so I thought he should be theirs. Harry had a very spoiled, much loved life. The last year was hard being he had developed diabetes and some other disease. He was deaf and blind, but kept going on. Friday he just didn't want to eat anymore. She knew it was time. With heavy heart she brought him to the vet Saturday morning. Before he was put to rest she asked the staff to take a stamp pad and make 2 paw prints for her for a plaque she's making of him.

BTW Tinky, I may need your help and expertise. It seems my hand raises too quickly at times. It seems I agreed on Saturday to work on my church's website. It's so out of date and BORING! I'm sure you know more about this stuff then I do. We had some suggestions by the Diocese webmaster of sites we can use, but the one he highly recommended escapes me now. It's like Weebly. He suggested this one particular because he said it's very easy to navigate through and they have a great tech staff.

Too damn cold today. And snow tomorrow? It's spring, dammit and this ain't Minnesota!
Boobs - so sorry about the dear poochie. But - wow! - 16+ years? Wow! What breed was he?

It is Monday. Bleech.
That is all.

One of the times I met Harry, he was being uppity.

I worked on the website re-design for the Chorale about 6 years ago. It was a bear of a project, and we spent hours and hours talking to designers about the different systems that are good to use. I think I've forgotten everything I learned! (Will see if I have a file for you)
I ended up taking a personal day on Friday to take Mom to a Doctor appointment (more surgery/radiation in her future) and then to a funeral. The rest of the weekend was finalizing taxes, helping Mom pack and get organized for our vacation and then doing hours of work when I got home on Sunday. The thrills never end!
Moony, did you end up with anything great from the auction?
Happy Monday to all! Girly, Deet, Brd, YWIW, Tink - hope you all have a great day!

Addy that would be wonderful! I'm trying to make the site more appealing and easy to navigate. Our church is 150 years old this year and it seems we still have some of the first members LOL Seriously. the older Parishioners will have difficult of navigating if I do. The owner never updates weekly as they should. I'd also like to include a "donation" button. I believe a lot more people will give this way. Some of the Elderly can't make it to church and don't have anyone to drop off their donations. This would resolve that problem and hopefully put us for once in the black. It's going to be a long haul, but hopefully we the help from my friends and will accomplish my goals.

We are basically on death watch for my father. He is not really eating or drinking and confined to a bed. Likely this week.
Great 50th weekend for Mrs. Brd! Much fun! Excellent dinner on Saturday and way too much partying yesterday. Nice gifts from her mother brother and sister. Many phone calls, etc.

I had an "avoid it all" weekend, or as much as I could. We went down the shore and to asbury park on Saturday and had a really really nice day. Exhausting though as I was asleep before 10pm lol. Now starts the stretch of a few months where, besides family drama growing by the day, I have commitments almost every day of every weekend. But for the most part, all fun.
boobs - oh wow, so good to hear it seems to be nothing!

Boobs, start watching without him. If he wants to watch it badly enough, he'll move quicker.
Love my Scandal!! There was an ep this season where Shonda Rhimes sent out a tweet warning folks not to be eating during the beginning of the show. That scared me a bit. LOL. Then when it started, it had the Warning disclaimer at the beginning. So I sat there with my hand over my eyes, peeking through since I didn't know what to expect and I was glad I did. Kept my eyes closed for part of the scene in the beginning.
And between the ep last week and the ep of The Good Wife last night, I almost need a break from dramas!!
