Moony, you know it's German's Chocolate Cake Day, right?
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)
Mrs. Brd are getting a few days away from the kids to celebrate my mother in law's birthday! I wish it was a trip away just the two of us! But, the next thing we know the kids will be gone!
Broadwayboobs- I figure I should pop in here from time to time :) One of these days I want to head back down to New York and see some shows. It's been over 6 years since I was last in the city and I would love to meet up with folks again. I miss having the picnics in Central Park.
Speaking of time going by fast my niece is turning 10 (yes she really is) in September and a few weeks ago she said to me "I can round your age up to 30 now" I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry at that.
The towel waving reminded me of a Per?nist rally. I kept chanting "Evita!" whenever they'd pan to the crowds. - SM2
Morning peeps! BGG come and visit us and bring dad. You know how to find the gang.
Never a dull commute. This morning my power went out at around 5 a.m. The generator kicked in, but within 5 minutes the power was restored. I walk to my bus stop and see flashing lights. They have rt34 closed from Main street until Girly's and my meet up diner. So I run up to main street and wait to see if a bus shows up. Luckily I see one and flag him down. All in all not too bad. Got into the City 7 minutes later than usual. The joys of mass transit. There seems to be a downed power line.

As much of a skeptic that I am, I thought yesterday's meeting was a great exchange of ideas and team building. I am part of the new orgs management team, and we got to meet each other and look at strengths/weaknesses, and suggestions on how to better build a common culture when many are coming from other orgs with different cultures. I usually scoff at a lot of this stuff, but this one seems sincere, so I am giving it my attention.
It is still weird being considered senior management. I am more stressed out about the training I have to conduct.
Bittersweet evening last night. I've been taking a lot of classes and workshops with a wonderful playwright/teacher, and she's moving to Seattle with her husband. She gave a free workshop last night as a gift for all of us who've worked with her. As always, she "opened a new window" ( and door ) to a piece I've been struggling with for a while. I'll miss her, BUT of course I'll see her in the fall; she'll be coming to see my play in November. And she'll get to meet DD. And he'll get to meet her.
Now, as Chekhov once said, via Neil Simon: "I must write. I must write."

Summers are usually very slow and quiet around here, but the change in management has us stuck in meeting after meeting.
Speaking of meetings, Moonchild has been facilitating designer/manger planning meetings and corporate retreats for her company this year - to great accolades. They've been flying her around the country to do her thing in the various regional offices and she's loving it. She really does share DNA with Cousin SOMMS.
Good for MC! Mrs. Brd spent a few years in special events. We always thought that C20 would be good at event planning. Her major is PR/Marketing, so she will have some background.
Speaking of those J's we had a guest speaker Chris Lowney at a recent J Event - reading his signed book on the train!
Looking at pics of the football team yesterday with disabled kids and adults - so many smiles from the participants and the boys. Nice event for the boys. Great pics of C16.
I bought another J's book last week - Jim Martin's latest. I wanted to read it on the train to NYC, but it was a lot larger and heavier than I anticipated and I couldn't handle it with only one good hand. I enfded up taking a magazine instead. I'll enjoy the Martin book later this week.
