Apparently, at the moment. The problem is the winds are with us again, to the point that they can't fly fixed-wing craft to dump water. And I think the person we contract to take care of Christie had to evacuate

*sigh*

We're playing it by ear, at the moment. Even though we'd only be down the highway in San Diego, it just is a little troubling to leave with this going on.

Current news is that it's being pushed by winds away from housing areas, and they've been able to keep it from spreading. But, with winds like we get here - gusts up to 70mph - that could change in an instant.

I was finally able to get ahold of our sitter. She's an ex-cop, so she maintains communication links to emergency services, and she assured me that everything is fine and we should go ahead with our plans.

So, we are.

But, keeping the phone handy!

Have a great couple of days, everyone. We're going to see a young friend of ours who is playing fabrizio in the first professional regional production of LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. It's gotten pretty good reviews, so we're hoping to enjoy it (it's one of our favorites!)

I broke my body.

After too many nights of not going to bed until the wee hours and eating unhealthy foods, my body is telling me to slow down. Too bad it chooses the night of the week where I have THIS MUCH homework and studying to do.

I have a fever and I want to sleep. A lot. Urgh.
