Two hours in line. They really should give my neighborhood a larger polling place than the Moose Lodge. Our community has tripled in size in the past ten years, yet the polling place stays the same size - tiny.
Wow, Deet. sorry to hear about your 'friend'. some people have a gift for making everything in life all about them. I avoid those people. They're very needy.
I love ya, Deet!

No line here! I did not expect a line, I live in a Daley machine ward and there is always plenty of election equipment and staff.
D2, that sounds just bizarre. Get that person to a nunnery quick!
Greetings.
I waited in line for over an hour to vote. And voted with pride.
Now, if we can all just take one day and celebrate being AMERICANS, that would be a good thing...
(D2, I'm sorry you have to deal that... *hug* )

Brd - did they let you vote multiple times? Now THAT'S the sign of a good Daley voting machine ward!
Oh, D2, ***hugs***! I can say very honestly I know exactly how you are feeling and it f'n sucks. **pours a VERY dirty martini**

Oh yes, Acorn registered me as DAME, papalovesmambo and PalJoey! So four votes for Obama!
Tink, I promise I'll let you talk about YOUR feelings next time! :-P
Seriously, do I need to smack someone around?
Would you, please!?!

I can help out, I am not a small person!
I am so excited and nervous about today.
Happy Election Day All.
I love the energy and excitement - and the pride!
I feel like starting a hokey "Proud to be an American" thread... but I'm sure they'll throw eggs at me if I do.
I'm wearing red, white and blue today. But, you probably guessed that...
With a dash of pink?
YO Addy!
As I mentioned in one of the election threads, the feeling of satisfaction and hope when I pulled the lever this morning was very powerful!
Well, today, I'm wearing all the colors... because the right to vote is something I cherish. And it goes beyond my political preferences. It's my right as an American.
Fun article, by the way, about how to watch the results unfold. Kind of reminded me of the Adult Thread - the way we make everything about food and drink!

Always a dash of pink, Shamey!
Yo.
And, may I say that my favorite SNL piece of all time was Amy Poehler doing the Sarah Palin rap... I've seen it more times that I can count and it makes me LAUGH!! Brilliant!!

People are excited! I sent out an e-mail just Sunday inviting people to my house and the response was much more than Mrs. Brd prefers! It will be fun! My friend and I have watched every election night returns together since 1992.
Wheee, Election Day! I'm off to vote!!
Yay! I'm leaving work around 4.

I wanted to vote early so that I could celebrate at Chili's this afternoon without keeping an eye on the clock. I'm also in red, white & blue. I'm so cheesy that way. And I LIKE it!
I just realized that I'm wearing mostly blue with a bit of red and white. It was totally unintentional but still cool.
I'm leaving work early because I volunteer at my polling place every year to help people with disabilities.
So, I plan to be at the polls for about 4 hours late this afternoon and this evening. And then home to watch the returns. A friend was supposed to come over to watch with me, but those plans were cancelled, so I'll just have to have all the champagne myself!
I just realized I don't own any read. But I found a scarf my grandmother knitted me that happens to be red white and blue so I'm wearing it today!
You don't own any "read?"
Go to a bookstore, Shira.
