What kind of ice are you speaking of, Mr. It would be a hot commodity around these parts...
Hi DD!
Atlanta is warm like the rest of the country - low - mid 90s during the day. Thank goodness for air conditioning - one of my very favorite inventions of the 20th century!
Last night, I attended the Elvis Costello concert at Chastain Park. It is an outdoor amphitheatre in the middle of a neighborhood here in Atlanta, but we had a little breeze, so it was tolerable. Elvis played with veteran New Orleans jazz pianist, artist and composer Allen Toussaint and the Crescent City horns. The show was a lot of fun! Elvis was the first artist to record in New Orleans after Katrina - and his latest CD - "The River in Reverse" was the outcome. It features Mr. Toussaint, the Horns, and Elvis's back-up band - The Imposters. Elvis played most, if not all of the CD last night along with classics like "Pump it Up", "Watching the Detectives", "I Don't Want to go Back to Chelsea", "What's So Funny About Peace, Love and Understanding" and a killer version of "Alison". Elvis played for 2 and 1/2 hours from 7:30 until after 10:00PM. Good stuff!
The ice holding up my lemon - lets just leave it there.
I'm Mister White Christmas
I'm Mister Snow
I'm Mister Icicle
I'm Mister Ten Below
Friends call me Snow Miser
What ever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch
I'm too much!
I saw Elvis a couple of years ago here in Seattle. What a phenomenal performer.
A couple? How did he look?
Edit: Oh, that Elvis.
Elvis is old school - he puts on a lengthy and energetic show. He's done so many different types of projects in recent years - from an album made with Burt Bacharach to a more recent classical CD to this most recent bluesy-tinged New Orleans type CD. He doesn't forget his punk roots - but just re-imagines his classics for concerts. I love his talented jazz pianist wife - Diana Krall, also.
****** Shamey - I saw the "other" Elvis in concert in 1976 with my parents, and unfortunately, he still has left the building*******

Why can't a good meltdown come along on days like this one??
Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.
Puppies are babies in fur coats.
Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
I'll stop the world and melt with you
You've seen the difference and it's getting better all the time
There's nothing you and I won't do
I'll stop the world and melt with you
Jungle! That's the song! The Cold Miser song. I'm trying to think chilly thoughts today.
I'm also getting VERY nostalgic about seeing A Chorus Line the first time...
I think it's appropriate that this thread, with this title is my 'home' on BWW.
I'll have to keep checking dates to see if seats get released.

Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
I can't WAIT to see it again!
That show was SO special to me.... It still is.
It's funny... shows come and go, but I wonder how many have literally changed the lives of SO many people.
I'm happy to oblige, Addy! "The Year Without a Santa Claus" was one of my Holiday favorites growing up. The Miser Brothers were a trip. I loved all the Rankin Bass stop action claymation specials. Do you remember Shirley Booth ('Hazel') narrating this show???
I'm looking forward to A Chorus Line, too!
DD, I love that so many of the things we were talking about the other day are now being shared in that thread! It really was a life-changing show!
Jungle, I DO remember Shirley Booth narrating that show! I loved those specials...
Great memories!
Have a terrific evening, everyone!
Ciao jungle! Stay cool!
Happy evening, Jungle! Thanks for the cool ( ) song!
