And I missed it.
*the big monkey hugs rath*
Great. Now I smell like monkey.
Pattifan was here! Weren't we lucky?
And, I'm diggin' Cookie's new avatar!
For Cookie.
Ready. Go.
Forget spoons - time to attack!
Evening Addy.
Sorry, Sommsy, but if there is ONE shop in a country with good ice cream, they haven't "mastered" it! (But if I'm near Notre Dame today....)
It's okay though because I'm in the land of delicious cuisine, so if I'm deprived of one thing I like to eat, it will all balance out in the end when I come back home and won't be able to eat anything else that compares!!!
I just don't understand why our coffee can't taste like theirs. I think I'm "stocking up" on coffee for the return flight.
It rained last night. Now there's a cool breeze and the air smells like lilacs.
I wonder how they make their coffee. Like I said elsewhere (maybe it was here...), we pour our coffee down a cheesecloth bad, and the water is boiling. When we make coffee here on a coffee maker, the water is not boiling. I think it makes a difference.
Melitta cone filters. The water isn't "boiled" here either. They always use very finely ground coffee even for automatic drip coffeemakers.
The main thing is in France, all the food is fresh, and they don't chemically process their food the way we do. That makes a huge difference.
It's gorgeous today! Here's a photo I took this morning in our backyard for Jane2. It doesn't compare to her work, but it's an homage.
Good morning Miss P! I'm a very jealous boy!
*runs in..grabs a cup of java, gives Miss P a peck on the cheek and runs out*
Good morning, smokers and jokers.
Happpy Thursday.
Ice cream. She brought me ice cream!
Vanilla Ice cream! Imagine that!
Happiness is two kinds of ice cream...
Good morning, all. I'll take some Butter Brickle please!
Hi Dottie!
Oh, I love Butter Brickle!
My favorite used to be Friendly's Butter Crunch. Delicious!
Absolutely, Addy!! There's a place in DC on Wisconsin Avenue that has butter brickle and it reminds me a lot of Friendly's buttercrunch. Yum.
...and I loved the Friendly's brand of hot fudge. It was real fudge - not just chocolate sauce. Just a little on top and I was in heaven!
Hmmm... I wonder if there's a Friendly's nearby. I wonder if it's still as good...
Butter Brickle is my FAVORITE flavor of ice cream! The Thomas Sweet shops in Georgetown and Princeton have a very good rendition!
what is that white stuff around all your mouths?
SOMMS that's exactly what I was referring to, but I couldn't remember the name of the shop.
wouldn't you like to know, papa?
I thought so Dottie. When I lived in DC I would go once a week for a cup! I steer clear of the Princeton shops -- girlish figure issues, you know.
thomas sweet blend-ins rule!
I know RobbO. It's a cheap first date.
