Howdy, all.
I got home from the office about 45 minutes ago. Crazy the way we kill ourselves so that we can take a vacation. (And I'll still be checking into the office while I'm away).
Have my alarm set for 4:45am. (And, no, it's not easier when it's vacation. It's too early!)... but, my bags are packed, and I'm ready to go.
And, to quote another song: Rocky mountain high, Colorado!
This is my first vacation since August, 2010. That's just wrong. (I've had days off, but no vacation. I hope I decide to come back!)
Anyway, have a great week. I'll check in when I can.
xox
Thank you!
Can't wait to get some fresh air and some exercise and some rest...
Have a great week!
Have a great time Addy!

I've never been to Colorado. Actually I've never been west of the Mississippi, period. Well, I take that back - when we lived in Baton Rouge for a year my dad drove us across the bridge and into East Baton Rouge so that we could say that we'd been west of the Mississippi.
Morning, all! Meetings continue....
I've been to Vegas, Seattle and a layover in Phoenix on way to Hawaii. But never Colorado, always wanted to though.
G'morning
I've been to Denver, once, years ago. Hilarity ensued when I got stuck hanging out a hotel room window 18 floors above the pool. I was trying to see the mountains.
Later that evening I discovered I was allergic to shellfish when I had a shrimp cocktail for the first time in my life. I was carted out of a ballroom full of ad execs to an ER.
Good times.
party animal!
I've gotten to Arizona, California and Nevada (Vegas). Mostly cause the bestie got uprooted by her folks to AZ from NJ. Then she moved to CA as an adult, so I got out there a few times, though I did get taken to CA once as a kid with my folks. Vegas was a roadtrip with the bestie for a couple days on one of my jaunts to CA. She actually had moved there with her folks from AZ, and hated it. Between that and missing the ocean, that's how she ended up in CA. But she sucked it up and took me to Vegas, even though she dislikes it so much. Watta pal!
BOO FRIDAY!! Wow, I don't say that often! LOL!

Chinatown today. Oh boy.
I'm such a good person.
ETA: Heat. Humidity. Crowds. Hell. Any guilt I may have had over neglecting this kid has been assuaged.
Good morning, peeps. Page 2? Slackers!
Back to reality for a bunch of us. Keep enjoying it, Addy.
Morning peeps! I HATE the first back to work after a week vacation. I had to sift through 483 emails in my personal box. The group email had over 1800...I'm assuming my staff took care of those.
I've got 578 here. I almost logged on last night just to weed out the junk, but by the time I got home from hanging with my kiddles at my cousin's, I just didn't feel like dealing with it. Oh happy day. C-ya in a few hours!

Back in school.
The first 45 minutes have gone well so far. Is it lunch time yet?
Good morning all! Happy Monday!!
I baked another cheese cake yesterday. It's for one of my staff member's birthday tomorrow. It almost didn't make it. I was ready to cut it up to have with my coffee last night. I stayed strong and covered it and put it in the fridge. Now I need to buy a cake carrier tonight being my tupperware one is in the Abyss.

Which I'll share with Tink.
E-mail is making my head spin. Kinda like Linda Blair's.

Well, it sounded thoughtful. I can't help it if there's nothing left to share by the time she gets there.
it was an easy out - she seems thoughtful for saying it but she knew I wouldn't actually eat it....

I was counting on her "getting in shape" mantra to protect my stash!
OK, now I want brownies.
S/GD was on a mission this weekend to compare various brands of real "New York Cheesecake." So far a slice from the local diner, a slice from Junior's, and a slice at Artisanal on Friday night. Her favorite: Artisanal. I'm starting to like her.
Actually, things really started to improve over the weekend -- I began to put little clues together and figure her out, and we really bonded on Saturday during PHANTOM. She was so excited to see it, and finally admitted something I began suspecting on Thursday night: she wants to go into the theater. On the tech side, starting as a stage hand and eventually becoming a PSM. Apparently I'm the first person to encourage this so I've set her on a new career path.
And yesterday she astounded me with her astute observations about SPIDER-MAN. She enjoyed it well enough (and was thrilled to be invited backstage to meet my friend after) but gave a really smart dissection of what worked and what didn't. (FTR: it is SO much better than that mess that Taymor dumped onto the stage. At least it is now coherent and fun.)
She was not impressed with Dovetail last night though. But I tell myself she's only 22, from the midwest and I've pretty much neglected her so I have much more work to do.
