I am indeed.
That's always the contestant that looks like such an idiot and ends up getting the shaft and become a bitter queen named....what's his name? Oh, right. Exactly.
Or has yet ANOTHER meltdown and has to come back as a new poster over and over again.
Meh.
It'll come back around.

Don't worry jerby! Just let the sunshine into your heart! I know you can do it! I just know it!
I don't know why someone would pride themselves on telling off the judges without justification or the correct facts, but maybe that's just me. I find it hard to believe that people here can be up for a competition, knowing that it entails good and bad comments, yet go for the juggular and pride themselves on being nasty when they disagree, and flaunt that they don't "care" what we think (ESPECIALLY after we've been kind to them the entire effing time). But again, maybe that's just me.
And I've said this in PM, and I've no shame saying it here. If you're good, you're judged as good. And I've given jrb consistently high scores each week, relative to everyone else. And when there's something that needs improving, I'll say what does. This week, it was song choice. I said your voice was fine; the song itself is boring. I made it clear. And frankly, if you do a boring song, and other people sound equally good and do more compelling songs, you'll be graded lower. Kerrie and Spidey sounded better today. That's my honest opinion and I stick by it.
And JFTR, there are U2 songs that can blow people away. I know; that's why I'm a fan. And many of their songs are a marked difference from what we've heard thus far. (I dare someone to do "Discotheque" or "Numb" or "Zoo Station" and tell me otherwise.) I don't know enough Good Charlotte to say anything about them.
I can take criticism. But "step up" is cliched reality TV speak. If I stay in this competition, I will not be "stepping up", I will be singing my 3 songs the way they should be sung.
Oh--and funny how you expect us singers to "take it" but you can not.
Is this mic on?
It's not your singing. It's your songs.
(This week, anyway.)
(And see, you're making this personal. For chrissakes. It's not criticism I'm against. I've had criticism since week one. But to come out here guns ablazing in a condecending tone is really hypocritical.)
Fine.
I'm out.
Congrats to the Final 3.
OK - you want some criticism.
I am a bit sick of this ego you have. Some of you have. But you especially. I understand you are talented. And you have this little cabaret show. And you thought we would grovel at your feet like little tweens basking in the presence of their master. But, to be honest, from Day 1 it was all very underwhelming.
And it's pretty much gone down from there.
whoa. back up.. both of you to your corners..
I'm not going to beg for you to come back, although I do think it's a shame to the people who actually support you (including myself) that you'd throw this away.
This entire time, I've defending you, publicly and privately, over your performances and your riffs with others. This didn't get out of hand until you called me disingenious [sic] and accused me of being hypocritical. Through that, I've tried to keep this light-hearted and rationalize.
It's not WHAT you're saying that bothers me. It's how you say it. I've turned down work and a social life to work on this thing. And I'm open and encourage suggestions, even criticism. But the tone was uncalled for. Totally.
(well... too late for that part)
but,
Everyone had some valid points. For whatever reason people were hurt. I think it would be best to take some time and let cooler heads prevail.
Hey guys - just wanted to pop in and say great job to the contestants this round. Spidey definitely blew me away this week - I thought both songs were absolutely incredible. Everyone else was awesome, too - I love that the competition has gotten this good. Looking forward to next week!
JACXR. Evidently he's missed the last two pages.
I'm glad to see someone is still having fun.
This was supposed to be fun and I think we should let it get back to that. But, without me. You've got three 3 great people. I will vote for them and support this. But it has to be without me.
As I said to you Jerby. (or meant to) If that is your decision I think that is for the best and I will support you in it.
I have loved being able to hear some of your work here and that I got to know you better because of it.
Well, I don't think I deserve such kind words, but I thank you.
Yikes - I guess that's what I get for not catching up.
Not that I'm one to talk, but jrb I hope you don't drop out. Purely selfish reasoning, though. I'm like Patronus, I just like hearing everyone sound great on songs I know/like
Tiff, I know I'm late in the game, but I have to throw in more love for that avatar. I called Emma Watson hot from the beginning (back when it was still creepy to do so)
Ok I'm intervening here..
Jerby, you say it's hard to be different and blow us away based upon the themes you guys have been given. I can see that point. it is also not exactly easy to decide on a theme. I know I was put on the spot this week and had no idea what to choose. That is why I have made a proposition for next week.
I think we all need to just breathe and take a step back. This needs to be fun I agree. Otherwise there is no point.
If you have suggestions on how to make this a better experience for all involved I'm all ears.
I think an idea would be to let Kitz, WS2, and spidey choose one of the songs from anything they want. Rock and Sondheim are great contrasts, and they could choose a 3rd that they feel would add more contrast. And the Final Two should be allowed to choose 1 or 2 of their songs from anything.
I haven't accepted you dropping out Jerby..
I would quote a recent non-Best Picture winning film, but I already have enough reason to be smacked tonite.
It's decided. Apologies to those it may apply, but it's the right thing to do.
