I used to read all of Patterson's novels. But he started cranking them out one a week and I just couldn't keep up.

I just finished The Plot Against America by Philip Roth. It's been a long time since any book got me that worked up. I was alternately terrified and devastated by what was happening.

As a result I decided to go with some lighter fare next, The Stupidest Angel by Christopher Moore.

just finished Sisters by Danielle Steel. It was fluffy, predictable, but fun!

Now i'm halfway done with Jodi Picoults new book Nineteen Minutes. It's absolutely chilling and the best book of her i've read! wow!

I recently finished The Heart of Christianity by Marcus Borg, which was the book we were studying at church during Lent. I wish this book had existed when I was much younger struggling with my faith. So often, it said what I long have felt.

Now, I am re-reading Borg and John Dominic Crossan's The Last Week as my devotional for Holy Week. It is much more academic and a more difficult read, but further illuminates a liberal view of Christianity.

Oh, and I also am finishing Red Carpets and Other Banana Skins by Rupert Everett.

Next week I'm borrowing Angels in America from my drama teacher.

I just finished The Grapes of Wrath and V for Vendetta. They were both wonderful, in very different ways of course.

Well, tonight at Starbucks...I finished American Psycho.

I'm on one of my "I can't believe I graduated from high school and college (with a BA in English) without ever being assigned this book" kicks. I just finished Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and moved on to Animal Farm by George Orwell.

I'm on one of my "I can't believe I graduated from high school and college (with a BA in English) without ever being assigned this book" kicks. I just finished Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and moved on to Animal Farm by George Orwell.

I get on those kicks sometimes too, yoda. I recently read Orwell's 1984 for the first time. I don't have a BA in English so I've probably read even fewer classics than you, but I did read both Brave New World and Animal Farm in high school. If you don't figure out all the symbolism of the latter on your own while reading it, pick up a study guide or something afterwards that explains it fully. It's interesting.

I'm currently reading Burning Bright by Tracy Chevalier (author of Girl with a Pearl Earring). It's good if you like historical fiction.
