no. And I'd rather hear Bono sing his own song, thank you.

Not really. Kris Allen is actually a much better singer than Lee. Lee cannot sustain a note or sing in tune.

Well...he deserved to since he got the most votes.
But Crystal was by far the more talented and interesting. She'll have a career.

Yet again, Idol gets it wrong...

Well, let's face it. Idol didn't get it wrong. America's Idol voters got it wrong.

No! As I just said in the other thread, he's the most undeserving winner since Taylor Hicks.

This is what Idol does! They have a frontrunner all season and then someone else wins in the end. It gets people talking and that's what they love.

Taylor Hicks. WTF. I mean come on. Chris Daughtry should have won that season hands down. (I'm not biased or anything though). Either him or Elliot Yamin.

That was truly a joke---- Crystal will have a MUCH better career.... Lee is really not that good. Nice guy, but not a great singer by any stretch-

I don't see EITHER of them having a career. Crystal's a great singer but this cardboard box sitting next to my bed has more personality than she does. And Lee's just as boring as she is. It's great they can sing but it's going to take a LOT more than just that to have a career in that business. Just ask Reuben. Or Taylor. Or Kris. Or Jordin.

StockardFan, I wanted Kat McPhee (sp) to win that season. That was a good season... until the very end lol.
Testing, I agree 100%- I'm happy for him (since he seems like a nice, humble guy and was more surprised that he won than anyone), but he's IMO the weakest vocalist to ever win Idol. Yes, I think even Hicks is a stronger singer than Lee, but Hicks had much stiffer competition.

It depends on what you mean by "career," Jordan. I think Crystal will sustain a career in the sense that this new exposure will really help her to make a damn good living off of this. Whether or not she remains a strong presence in the mainstream we have yet to see. Personally, I think it would be a shame if she doesn't remain mainstream. To me, she's a great throwback to people like Alanis and Sheryl Crow in their prime with some Janis Joplin and Aretha/soul singer in there, and how I would LOVE to see that in pop culture instead of people like Kesha, or Lee (who's, to me, a less talented but more charming version of Daughtry or David Cook).

Yes, but the difference between Crystal and every one of those people you mentioned is that they have "it". They're fantastic entertainers whereas Crystal has a good voice but as far as being an entertainer, she's just dull. I'd love to hear what kind of music she puts out but ain't no way in hell I'd pay to see her live.
And when is Alanis' new CD coming out?!?!?!

Lee won't have a career for long(see Ruben Studdard). Crystal will make a name for herself(see Adam Lambert). Just because you win AI doesn't guarentee you a long music career.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Crystal is the more marketable of the two singers. Sheryl Crow Part Deux...case closed.

Though she's more talented, neither one of them will be remotely successful in the current pop music world. Lee's like a (mediocre) singing glass of milk: bland bland bland. And as lovely as Crystal's voice is, do you really see her doing well in a pop climate where the biggest stars are Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna? Unfortunately for her (and perhaps for the music-buying public), it's not 1997 anymore and the natural looking singer-songwriter thing does not have the cache it once possessed.

I loved how the finale was like, "Really, the show isn't over...it isn't over...it's going to go on and on as before...really...just like it always was...GOD BLESS SIMON!!!...But really the show is just going to go on and on...just like it always was...no change at all...it's about talent...really it is...its just going to go on and on producing so much talent...see all the talent we have created...OH LOOK THERE'S PAULA...it's not going to just stop...not just like that...oh, no...it's just going to go on and on...WE LOVE YOU SIMON WE THINK YOU ARE A GENIUS....on and on and on making people so happy...so happy..."

Is Lee's market really teenage girls? He seems nothing more than Danny Gokey minus the shades and smirk (what happened to him anyway?). Lee just gives off a very vacant personality. Very little charisma.
I thought Crystal should have won but at least she is spared having to put that single on her album and is not as tied to Idol as she would if she won.
