I'm obsessed with Dance Moms. I've had a few dance teachers like Abbey in the past. Hey, she trains amazing dancers.... it's no different than a gymnastics or football coach. It's the Moms that are absolutely appalling.

Have you seen the commercial for Dance Moms Miami? I. CANT. WAIT.

The thing is, I don't find the moms that appalling with the exception of Cathy and Jill. Melissa is a little unstable, I think. She would annoy the $hit out of me and is the worst at reading the lines they feed her. (Kristen Wiig would HAVE to play her in the SNL spoof. Of course, Bobby Moynihan would play Abby.) I am interested to see what happens this week with her serving the others with legal documents. Christi, Holly, Kelly and I would probably hang out. I would explain to Christi and Kelly the importance of keeping the crazy melt downs to a minimum in front of the kids, but other than that, we'd be cool.

And I will say that it bugs the snot out of me when she sits on that block and watches the girls dance. She trained as a child and teen, though, right?

lol, JG, strange, I'm always so impressed by watching her just stand there while the girls dance. I imagine that we don't have to see the actual teaching scenes and that they've been taught so well that Abby is almost not needed at this point. Like a director who's done their job on a show.

I think what bugs me about it is that it's seen as lazy, which I don't think Abby is. Christy has made fat jokes about her on many occasions. I just don't like it being played for laughs, I guess. She's obviously good at what she does. If she doesn't train them herself, she's hired the right people to do it.

I'm very curious about Dance Moms Miami. It's hard to tell anything from that trailer, but it could be a very different dynamic.

I'm just sort of astonished that anyone would admire Abby's methods. While she may be good at spotting certain errors in technique, methods of bullying and humiliation to teach from a place of fear are just disgusting. The way she punishes the girls for something one of the mothers have said or the way she tells the girls how awful and unloving and unsupportive their mothers are makes me sick. The one thing about Abby that makes me smile is when she raves about how awesome the girls perform...until they don't win and then out of nowhere, the girls sucked. Or that it is ANYBODY'S fault other than Abby's.

And why is she so focused on sexualizing prepubescent girls? It's really disturbing.

I've never seen that reaction from Abby when they don't win. I've only seen her display good sportsmanship. She usually smiles and is happy that the placed at all, or she says that they'll do better at the next one.

Because of all the editing done for reality shows, I don't believe much of what I see. I base my opinion on the girls being happy at Abby's school, and dancing really well.

I'm fine with her not teaching the kids herself...if she would actually admit that. But, she's constantly telling the mother's that SHE'S the one who's made the kids the dancers that they are, and that's patently false. She the one who's hired the teachers who've made the kids the dancers that they are.

Standing or sitting in a studio, with your arms crossed across your chest and giving corrections, does not an instructor/teacher make. I could go into a dance studio and give corrections. It's easy to point out a flexed foot and bent knee, or sloppy port de bras, or someone who's dancing ahead or behind the beat. Anyone who's ever taken a a couple of years of dance classes could do that. But that is NOT teaching someone how to dance. There is a huge difference in being able to teach and demonstrate proper technique and being able to point out errors and flaws in the technique.

Even though it's undoubtedly scripted. I keep asking myself why would anyone want to be portrayed as such an utterly hideous person? She comes off as self-centered, egomaniacal bully, who plays favorites with her students, pits her students against each other as well as their mothers, and doesn't seem to have a lick of taste or class.

She does that when they are at the competition, but she totally flips the script at the next class. And she has DEFINITELY said on numerous occasions how anything other than first place is losing. But she changes her opinions more often than she changes her underwear.

She always says, "Second place is the first loser." There have only been a few times when she hasn't found fault with the girls when they didn't take first. One time was in Miami, I think, when the competition was much tougher.

I just think it would be a better show without Cathy and Candy Apples. I don't think it adds a think except awkwardness.

And Broadway Baby needs a good grooming and to go on a diet. That puppy is not healthy.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes she gets the girls disqualified, which happened in the first season. But whenever someone doesn't win (meaning only first place) or the judges don't like a routine, Abby will be the LAST person to accept any responsibility.

They may have also gotten disqualified when they used the guns in the performance. They never mentioned why they didn't make the finals.

How can we judge if what she does is working, when we don't actually see everything she does, but just the things that the producers of the show want us to see? I'm guessing a school of this size has girls competing in all age levels and categories. What's their win/loss record?

The way she sexualizes those girls is disgusting, she's ruining their esteem by talking badly about their mothers and how about the suicide routine? I bet that'll put li'l Vivi on the couch for years!

that's right- we know nothing, we see nothing, and I don't care....

I'm just enjoying the show for mild entertainment purposes.
