Ryan Jahnke skated for USA, and ABC totally chacked him. I thought it was totally ****ty that they milked and exploited the Rohene Ward sob-story but didn't have the decency to show Jahnke at his last Nationals.
I thought Jahnke was one of the truest musical skaters out there, but his jumps were not there...

Listening to Weir's I'm-so-different-and-that's-what-scares-people interview was absolutely egocentric. I think more people were frightened of Rudy Galindo (especially in his Colors of the Wind costume), who is WAY more gay, than this kid in his 70s sunglasses and CCCP t-shirt (what was the point of that?). I'm sure he believes he is making some sort of important statement, but there are more effective ways of making his point other than saying those who don't support him can "eat it". A more positive spin would have changed his attitude from self-centered brat to inspiring and self-determined. His attitude in the short interview following his skate was really humble and sweet. It made me wonder how much of his rebel-girl act is just for publicity. My guess is 90%.
Dear Miss Weir:
Brian Boitano
We're used to it by now.
Sincerely,

Stephane Lambiel is definitely a cutie.
Thanks for the information on Ryan. That's too bad he retired.
I also wonder if Jenny Kirk would have made the team this year had she not retired as well.

Unlike Kwan, the myth about Jenny Kirk not agreeing with COP is definitely true.
Her skating hasn't improved the way it should have back in 2002. However, she might've beaten a 4 triple Emily Hughes for the bronze medal at Nats and thus making the team with Kwan's withdrawal. I wonder if the judges would've sent her though since her last two World Championships were disasters and embarrassing for an American skater.

Jenny Kirk didn't agree with the COP? I was wondering why she would retire the year before the Olympics when she made the WC team the year before, granted she did finish 4th.
Jenny didn't get much height on the jumps and she would still be rotating when she landed and would fall down. I'm sure that she spins would get low ratings too.
I don't think she would have made the team at all! And in a way, I'm glad she retired so we didn't have to watch the disappointment she was in when she didn't make the team. And I'm VERY SURE that sure wouldn't have made the team.

COP means code of point and it refers to the judging system.
I think that COP is a gymnastics term, and before it couldn't be used in skating due to the judging of it. But I guess it can be since everything does have a value.
And just in case you're wondering Gymnastics is getting a new judging system/COP too and I have NO IDEA how it's going to turn out!

Stephane and Carolina dated? How cute is that!
Well for my sake I hope that you are right about him! But not sure how I feel about her programs message if that was her
intent!
VIETgrlTerifa, I wouldn't give up hope on Daisuke! I think he's just Japanese! I had a big crush on Takeshi Honda for awhile and that's what I thought about him!
Interesting to note about the Chinese Men! There used to be several and now just the one and he didn't do so well!
Mister Matt are you comparing Johnny to Brian? Brian doesn't necessarily come across that way at all. Brian almost seems naive or stupid or something like that because in every interview I've seen of him, it's like he repeats himself over and over and he's really talking about a simple thing but he just draws it out!

Jane2, you crack me up!
Mister Matt, I just read one of your latest posts. Very good, indeed. And if you only knew my Rudy Galindo story!

Do tell your Rudy story!
BTW, I just read where Plushenko is now married and my initial reaction is "EWWWWW"!
I think he had much more appeal as a boy, or coming across as one. I don't really care for the "man" Plushenko at all!

It only matters if you're a girl who has grows a crush on them,
. Other than that, it doesn't matter at all.

Posted: 2/15/06 at 2:37pmWhy can't a girl have a crush on a gay man? It isn't as if you may be dating him at any time. I've had more crushes on gay men than straight ones in my life! Are you kidding, there are gazillions of girls with crushes on gay men all across the world~

Because it sorta kills the fantasy. At least with a straight guy, there is some hope. Some = never going to happen, but still...
BTW, I know there are tons of girls who fall for gay guys. It's quite common.

VIETgrl, it's like us gay guys having crushes on the straight gymnasts (the male ones that is)!
#518Figure Skating Chat
Posted: 2/15/06 at 2:41pmI don't have crush on gay man and I truly hope Matt isn't gay.

Posted: 2/15/06 at 2:42pmYeah,, I was going to bring up the fact that so many gays have crushes on straights. It's all in fun.
#520Figure Skating Chat
Posted: 2/15/06 at 2:46pmWell if your gay it matters because you like to know who is gay and who is not! You'll feel a connection or something like that when you learn that Skaters, Broadway Actors, ect. are also gay.

Um...I'll just keep my mouth shut, but you shouldn't stop crushing on Matt because of something like that.
Anyway, I still imagine marrying Stephane and Daisuke even if I think they are gay...doesn't stop my mind from working.
This is the most embarrasing post I've ever written, btw.

Well, then I have to stop crushing on him. I have to set the rule and follow it. :)
But Matt is really an adorable guy on ice. I love his simple yet artistic style.

Don't stop your Matt Crush!
Someone once told me the straightest guy in figure skating is Michael Weiss and that was only due to the wife and kids!
