I called Denny coming back! Didn't I? Didn't I?
Count me in amongst the ones who didn't really like this episode. Ugh. I kept thinking "ER".
What annoys me is that we all know Meredith won't die, but next weeks episode is going to be all about her anyway and probably nothing about any of the other characters.
*crosses fingers for an Alex confession of love for Addison this week* :)
I agree with you, losingmyreligion. Meredith Grey is a core character, but I'd like to see an episode focusing on another character/one being narrated by another character. Also, as mentioned in a few posts ago, where are the other interns?!?! There are definitely more, and I'd like to get a peek at their lives.

I dont know... I think the episode will def be CENTERED around her, but I would bet there'll probably be some other things going on in it too. We've still got all the other story lines to finish up- we need to find out what happens with Izzie's guy and I'm guessing we'll prob find out more about Alex's pregnant woman too. And.. there's always other things that I'm sure they'll throw in. I'm not disagreeing though that the bulk of the episode will probably be about Meredith.
aaand I'm def hoping for some Alex/Addison action too- I loved the "if you went missing, I'd notice"
True...I'm really curious about Alex's patient. I also really like how his character has been developing lately. He's not just a cocky asshole anymore, he's actually a pretty decent guy.
I used to be squeamish w/ the idea of Alex & Addison. For me, it was just who they were. Alex was just an ass, and Addison was whore-like type of person. Now that Alex has finally started to develop, and Addison is just staying in one place, I'm starting to warm up to them. Not completely though. They were both pretty lonely. But when Alex told Addison that he would notice if she when missing, I fell in love w/ them
I would love to see Alex and Addy, but at the same time part of me is getting annoyed. When Mer and Derek got together it was stressed what a big taboo and no-no it was for an intern and an attending to get together. Now there is Mer and Derek, Cristina and Burke, George and Callie, now possibly Alex and Addy? What happened to that rule? What happened to the career ending risks associated with getting involved with one of the higher ups? (all of that being said I love the couples, but still...)
I know, KelRel! Whatever happened to the days of Izzie-Alex and Mer-George??
I'm glad those days are over. Mer is too scary and twisty for George and Izzie is too nuts for Alex. Alex is pretty scary and twisty too, there have been too many hints at his past to ignore that and Izzie would just drive him nuts. All that baking and "nesting" would send Alex running for the hills. Addy and Alex both know about loss and about overcoming and making the best (often via bad choices) out of a bad situation. I think that is why Alex and Addy might work. I just wish we knew when it became OK, and why.
Yeah, I agree...I think Alex and Addison have a lot in common. They both can relate to a sense of feeling invisible, and doing things to get noticed. Like how Addison cheated on Derek to get his attention. And from the beginning, Alex was kind of overshadowed by the other interns, especially when he failed his medical boards, and he was obnoxious to make up for that. They've both been rejected by their love interests (even though that's pretty common with all of the characters). And also, can't forget about the sexual tension! It's so obvious. They just need to get together already.
Meredith and George, oh god...PAINFULLY awkward. I could barely watch that episode last season. It was just bad on so many levels.
For the record, Kel, Calli's not an attending, she's a resident. Apparently it's not quite the same level of taboo.
I am currently praying that this is not leading up to some big Meredith has been in a coma since the bomb blew up...I got a bad case of the heebie jeebies when Dylan appeared all of a sudden at the moment of her supposed death.
I continued to watch after the unethical-beyond-all-words Izzy/Denny storyline for Chandra and Kate and that's it... the interns have begun to frustrate me-- they are far too old to be this utterly immature and stupid....this season I have only been watching it on ABC playbacks...but if they pull some sort of Bobby's on Dallas dream season I will absolutely quit this show once and for all...
Taryn, true, but she is higher up on the medical food chain and I mistakenly clumped her with the attendings.
I'm still skeptic of this whole Addison & Alex thing. I think it will happen, but I doubt it's going to last.
Have you guys seen this article from The Wall Street Journal?

....Bad, bad, bad, bad idea. It makes my soul cry.
I was just about to say something about that, glimpseofstocking...I really don't want her to leave Grey's! Also, I don't want it to become like CSI or something...Montgomery's Anatomy: New York? Yeah no.
This is just weird. I love Addison and all, but I love her at Seattle Grace. Who knows what kind of a character she'd be in another setting? I understand how it might be difficult to make new and interesting storylines for all of the characters, since there are so many of them. But last night I watched the first season (yes, the whole thing in one sitting, I'm a loser) and even though the cast was smaller then, I noticed that there weren't any huge dramatic plot twists up until the very end of the last episode. It was all about the interns's day-to-day lives at SGH, and much less soap opera-ish.
Part of the reason why I got hooked to Grey's is because the characters felt so real to me. They had real problems and dealt with them in ways that I could relate to. I guess what I'm trying to say is that just because Addison (or any of the other characters for that matter) doesn't have a hugely shocking suspenseful storyline doesn't mean that they're not entertaining to watch on the show.
Am I making any sense here?

My initial instinct was "OMG that is soooo terrible, It's going to bomb and then Kate isn't going to have anything to do!!!" but now, I'm starting to think it might not be a bad idea. Here's why:
1.) People LOVE Addison. If you read the comments on all of the blogs, every other message is like "more addison! more addison!"
2.) In Grey's she really IS a second string character. If she had her own show, it would be all about her and would give her more room to shine.
3.) She needs to leave Seattle and move on with her life. I still don't understand why she and McSteamy are hanging around. I don't, however, want her to leave the show. So this could be a solution to that problem.
It might... MIGHT just work. And if it did, I'd drop Grey's for her show faster than you could say "Addison Forbes Montgomery"

I say not a good idea. Most of the fun is watching her interact with her ex-husband and his "perfect 12 year-old" girlfriend. And of course her with Mark.
I love the idea of a "Dr Addison: Baby Saver" (tm defamer.com) show- especially if Ellen Pompeo will never be a guest star on it.
I mean, Richard had called Addison to come help with the quints surgery. She didn't come to Seattle to get her husband back - at least, that wasn't the original motive. And when Addison and Derek got officially divorced, she stayed because she'd become a part of the staff at SGH, and she obviously liked working there for reasons other than Derek. In my opinion, Derek and Addison are two completely separate characters now. His storyline doesn't affect hers, and vice versa.
Maybe she'd leave because she doesn't get the Chief position? And would Mark follow her? Ugh. I don't want this to happen. I don't like change. Especially with my favorite TV show! Haha.
Losingmyreligion, you are reading my mind!
I enjoy seeing Addison interacting WITH the other doctors at Seattle Grace. Even though her and Derek aren't together anymore it's interesting to see how they interact, and now we're seeing a more civilized (..not really the right word for it) friendship between Addison & Meredith.
I'm trying to think positively, but I can't help but think that this will turn out to be a mistake. What if the spin-off ends up tanking? Will Addison's character just be over with? I would be incredibly disappointed if that were the case.
One thing that bothered me about the Wall Street Journal article was the bit about Kate's character not having anything to do now that she has divorced Derek. That's completely ridiculous. Addison doesn't exist only to be Derek's wife. And what about her relationship with Mark? That's definitely something that I think needs to be explored on the show. I'm personally not a fan of the pairing, but what about Addison and Alex? Just because she's not married to Derek doesn't mean that her character doesn't have any potential.
I'd really just like to get some answers or hoping that the blog will be updated with "PSYCH!!!!!!!" I don't know, I just feel like Grey's has kind of been going down-hill lately and this will just speed up that process.
*sigh* If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Addison must go to Boston, to balance out the whole Cheers/Frasier stiuation.

According to this article, it states:
"If the two-hour pilot bombs, Addison and Kate Walsh will come back to Grey's Anatomy."

So, that's good news. Hmm, I'm not sure about this idea though...

I agree, she totally DOES have potential. But as of now, ever since she and Derek finalized the divorce, she has only been in subplots- nothing that has been up front and center. Which is really disappointing because Addison is soooo great. The problem is, this IS Meredith's show, so she really does get all the attention. If Addison had her own, we wouldn't have to worry about Meredith, and she could get more screen time and be the main event instead of just tucked in here and there.
I guess it's back to Burke vs. Derek for the chief position. Cause I highly doubt Sloan has an actual chance and if Addison is leaving the show...then yeah.

I really and truly hope this is not true. It's been two years. Who does a spin off after two years? Didn't the other successful ones not start until the show was already over?
