I am SO sick of Izzie/George crap! It is making me actually wnat to stop watching the show it is so annoying.

And I guess I am the only one who thought that the slap was just stupid.

The only Seattle stuff I liked was the wedding stuff, that was REALLY good (and the Eva story line I love that one) but everything else...blah.

I also actually liked the LA because I am to the point that I need new, better characters because half of the ones in Seattle are annoying the crap out of me and I am starting to not care.

I want the good Grey's back!

I am so done with this show now. I have been hating Grey's lately and last night was the final straw. The spinoff was terrible.

Oh no. The slap was a pivotal moment. Here are Meredith and Thatcher getting closer, getting to know each other and building a relationship. And they're building that relationship because Susan pushed for it. Susan pushed for it because she felt guilty for not pushing for it when Meredith was younger. Now Susan is dead and Thatcher -- in the heat of the moment or not -- essentially blamed Meredith for that. If you noticed, he just kept repeating how she said it was a simple procedure, that she'd be fine.

Anything Meredith and Thatcher would have had has now gone right down the toilet.

Wow.
I can't help but wonder if there is an age factor, because it is obvious that I am definitely in the minority here.

I much preferred the LA cast, I don't think they had an outstanding premier storyline but I liked them all the characters so much better than Seattle ensemble. I have found the interns more often than not to be nothing more than annoying, with occasional interesting stories for Christina, George and Alex...Izzy and Meredith drive me crazy.

Yeah, I remember him from MSCL. He always seems to play the same character.

I would have been much sadder that Susan died if it was just Grey's the whole episode. It's just kind of settling in now. She was so nice/adorable.

i can't imagine them basing an entire show around Addison and the people in LA... i guess they are going for a much older audience, because all of the characters were so much older...

I watched last night to see this possible spin-off and I enjoyed what I saw.

Piz [Chris Lowell] shirtless was AMAZING.

It seemed like a show I could get into.

I did like the Grey's Anatomy actual parts as well, I'd never actually watched it before. I now understand why everyone loves it. I need to get the seasons! T.R. is my new crush.

If you think this was good, Clumsy, you MUST check out the rest of Grey's.

Jeff Perry (Thatcher) is one of the founding members of Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, along with Gary Sinise, Lauri Metcalf, Glenne Headley, John Malkovich, etc. He was also a regular on the series "Nash Bridges" (with Don Johnson and Cheech marin).

"i can't imagine them basing an entire show around Addison and the people in LA... i guess they are going for a much older audience, because all of the characters were so much older..."

child, you have SO much to learn.....half of the cast is the same age range as the new show, with a couple being older.
Greys is mainly 30-something, as is the new show. A couple people may be late 20's, but that's it

the actors may be the same ages, but the characters certainly aren't... in Seattle the main characters are interns, with supporting characters being older... in LA, the characters are all established doctors, so much older, with the exception of that one desk boy...

I disagree.....only a couple could be deemed "much" younger although I am still unsure what you call "much younger"

and sorry, there are two disctinct sets of main characters on GA

But really it isn't that much of a difference. The Grey's side the young ones you are talking about are all about 24-25. Addison's group is early 30's-mid 30's. And Grey's has a lot of characters that age...everyone except for the interns plus some much older characters

24/25? Many people are barely out of college at 24, let alone in their internships. In fact, the average age of matriculation into med school is 24, then tack on another 2 years of in-class education. Since the characters have all passed their boards, that's another two years of clinicals that are completed on top of that. The youngest Grey's characters are bordering on 30.

Residencies are 3-5 years. 5 for surgical. Since most surgeons subspecialize, they're going to complete a fellowship. That's another 5 years. Which means the youngest attendings on staff are around 40. Bailey is towards the end of her residency (which is apparent since she is up for Chief Resident) meaning she would be around 35.

And this is assuming all of these characters entered medical school immediately after completing their undergraduate degrees.

i don't think so.... "the youngest attendings are around 40" the "youngest Grey's characters are bordering on 30"... i believe that is a 10 year age gap...

I don't see 10 years as that big of an age gap.

If we're talking the different between a 10 y/o and a 20 y/o. Maybe. But 30 y/o to 40 y/o? It's going to be the same audience.
