Wouldn't that be impossible since Bailey is a resident, not an attending?

I'm still really upset that there was no scene between Bailey and the Chief. Sure, they had scenes about it in every episode except this one.

I was physically drained from that finale...I wish Burke & Christina still got married (maybe ran off & did it in Reno or something). As soon as Burke said his vows in surgery, I knew he wasn't going to say them later. Oh well...

As far as the Callie getting Chief Resident...I think it's bc she's not a mother. Since it was never mentioned, that's the only reason I could think of...

Did anyone else feel like some of the story lines just ended for the sake of getting the episode finished? I hope (and I'm pretty sure) all this will carry over till next season, but I didn't like this finale as much as last year's.

Way to make me resent Callie.

Don't do it! Resist! It's what they want you to do. They've got to find a way to get the audience on board with George and Izzie, since they suddenly decided that they are destined be such a great couple.

The men on this show treat the women like sh*t. All of them. You know, if someone decided they weren't sure if they could be with me because they didn't approve of how I was behaving when I was drowning, I'd slug the guy in the nuts and call it a day. Seriously. Take a good look. Every man on that show treats women like sh*t.

I like Callie, I identify with Callie, but her dig at Izzie was a tad bit uncalled for right as Cristina was about to walk down the aisle.

Also Burke is an a$shole. His vows were wonderful, but I think that he is too hung up on perfection. As "perfect" as Cristina needs to be for herself she is a terribly flawed person. She doesn't quite know who she is and she is still working on that. Burke should have been as accepting of her needs and wants as she was of his. She was a gorgeous bride and to just leave her like that...WOW!

Did anyone else see the ending there as a little bit of a "coming full circle thing"? There's all the new interns freaking out over their locker room and about "being a doctor" and then George sees a "Grey" and seems a tab bit smitten (or was that just me?). I hope that George will stick around and will no leave the show. I also hope that Meredith pulls her head out of her butt. Derek is in it for the long run and she is just so freakin' dependent upon other people's happiness to fight for her own. Derek deserves better, but I desperately want them together.

I think Alex' first impulse to let Ava/Rebecca go was the right one. He doesn't want to be "that guy" - the guy who breaks up someone's marriage.

See, even though Meredith bugs the crap out of me, I still think it's she that deserves better. She's had one hell of a year (that spanned three seasons, of course), and I think he needs to give her a frickin break. And again, to keep judging her because he didn't like the way she drowned is appalling.

I have a feeling that this story line with Ava/Rebecca/Jeff is going to allow us to see more into Alex's past. At least I hope so.

I just watched last night's episode and I have never been so emotional over a damn show before, haha. They did a great job on the finale and Sandra Oh was incredible.

Between this finale and Ugly Betty right before it, I was a sobbing mess last night. I have NEVER felt so depressed after watching tv. But I have to say, if T.R. leaves the show, I'm not watching anymore.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree Atrias. It may be "Grey's Anatomy", but the heart of this show is George O'Malley. He is what keeps them all together as a family.

I honestly had the same thought: that with the Chief staying on for a bit while longer, he too was considering making Bailey the "Chief-in-Training."

I also thought that because she was a mother, that perhaps she was passed over . . .

When she was asking George if she failed him, and he responded that no, he had failed her, I thought it was a really touching scene.

I thought so too. I love the relationship between George and Miranda. Scenes when she gets emotional always get to me.

Yes, but I still thought they might do it.

That scene with Bailey and George broke my heart.

This show makes me an emotional train wreck. Seriously.

I've known that Izzie and George were going to hook up since the first season. It was bound to happen and I'm glad it finally did, and as much as I love Sara Ramirez, I'm ready for Callie to just be gone. (She does give a really fantastic bitchy glare, though.) Since the Demise of Denny, I think Izzie deserves something good to happen in the love department, and George definitely qualifies.

Speaking of George, that scene between him and Bailey was probably the most perfect in the entire show. T.R. Knight is just fantastic.

Derek needs to stop being a weenie and cut Meredith a break. In the span of one year, she's had to deal with the love of her life lying to her, then leaving her for his wife (I mean come on, who does that?), a near death experience, her mother's death, her surrogate mother's death, and her father being a complete ass about the whole thing. Who wouldn't be a little broken up after all that? He's being an insensitive d*ck.

I fell off my couch when I found out that the girl from the bar is Meredith's half-sister. WHAT A TWIST! (Robot Chicken refrence? Anyone? ...Bueller?)

As for the whole chief debacle, it's just another example of Derek's weenie-ness. HOWEVER, I still think Bailey's the best man for the job. As a resident, she's more qualified than any of the attendings. We shall see.

I hope McSteamy doesn't leave, but I'm betting he will.

As for Alex, I'm hoping the whole Ava/Rebecca/Jeff deal will make him more personable. I think my favorite line in the episode was when he sat next to Addison at the church and she said, "Look at me...LOOK at me. You suck." Perfection.

Addison's spinnoff is going to crash and burn. Taye Diggs is a sitcom's death sentence. (I'm not saying I won't watch it, but still...)

I knew Burke & Christina wouldn't get married. When he said the vows in the OR, it was cemented in my mind. I just didn't think he would be the one to balk. Sandra Oh was absolutely impeccable in the last scene. The woman can do no wrong.

All in all, I'm a little wary of next season. I mean, how many times can different characters hook up/almost die/loose a parent/get married? Here's to hoping it continues to stay as good as it began.

I can't talk now. I gotta go get my wallet out of the toaster.

Does anyone even know the artist that sang the last song? I don't even know how to go about finding it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Her name is Ingrid Michaelson and she's incredible. She's got a song called "A Bird's Song" that I just love. As far as I'm concerned, the presence of her song at the end and the two Ray LaMontagne songs were the only high points in this episode. I wanted to friggin drown myself after watching this! Absolutely no one got anything resembling a happy ending except the chief. I was so pissed at Meredith I actually yelled at the TV.

EDIT: Can't find it on iTunes... is it on there? I'm going to be very upset.

Meredith's lived through 2 near death experiences, not just one - the drowning AND the bazooka shell in the man's stomach. (Not to mention various other near-death happenings - the toxic blood gas, for example. Guess it comes with the job?

When Izzie asked Alex if he saw George in the church, Callie walked over to her and went on this b*tchy spcheel. She was going on about how they had a big emotional day because she was named chief resident and they're going to have a baby and they "tried today, in fact"....

It was a little much. And the overkill, was Callie glaring at Izzie from the back of the church.
