And in a few months we'll do the Crucible, one of my top five favorite plays of all time

My school did Noises Off. Tomorrow is auditions for Cinderella which takes place in February (& I'm the music director 
) & after Cinderella, we're doing Thoroughly Moderen Millie

We always have 3 shows. 1 is a drama/straight show that takes place in the fall. So that was Noises Off this year.
Then we have "Road Show" where we go to the elementary schools in the district and perform and then one big show at the High School. The director is a student- usually a senior. I'm the music director this year aka teach the music, play the piano throughout the show. So the director chose Cinderella. That ends the beginning of February.
Then once that's over, we have a musical that's in the middle of April. SOOO excited that it's Millie this year!

Posted: 11/26/06 at 9:10pmWe're doing "The Sound of Music" this year... it's going to be awful because everyone's saying that they're going to quit if they're only cast as a nun or a nazi. Plus, our director has the whole favoritism so the show's been cast since before she announced it to us back in May... it pretty much sucks...

Posted: 1/29/07 at 10:55amI'm not in high school anymore, but I am involved in the high school's theatre program. This year they are doing Singin' in the Rain. They have a strong cast and a very creative crew. I'm making costumes for the dancing girls and helping with the set construction. At the moment, trying to decide how I want to construct Kathy's cake!

My school's doing High School Musical. And despite the fact that it isn't "real" mucial theatre, I'm quite happy.
1. We got an actual choreographer for it (instead of a student from our school, which we had last year).
2. There is going to be a lot of interest, and it's hopefully going to be a packed show, which will be really good for our theatre program.
3. It's high energy, and a lot of fun, which is good because our school's contest play, which I'm in, is a depressing play about the Holocaust.
4. I got Kelsi. It's my first not completely chorus role, so I'm actually really excited.
If you pity our school for performing High School Musical, you should pity anohter local high school more. Last year they performed Grease horribly, and this year their show is Footloose.

Posted: 8/13/07 at 8:25pmLast year we did Little Shop of Horrors. This year we are attempting Kiss Me, Kate. I pretty much have total control of the show. I'm precast as Kate/Lilli, desiging the set, costumes, and lights probably, and I'm assistant director. But our director doesn't do anything, so basically I'm director. And probably choreographing if we can't hire someone. Oy.
