They went into my box o' books to read after I graduate...I think I'm better off just waiting until the summer.
Oh...no...you...di'n't. You graduate in HOW MANY months? Just read the first one! Really quick. It'll only take a day - two, TOPS.
Claire, what other internship opps are you looking into?
Hey all! How goes it. Tiff, I am most definitely not starting in on them. I can't get hooked on the series (no matter how fast I can whip through the first book). They'll just have to wait 2 months! I've waited all these years, what's a couple more months?!?!
Nothing much new here. I just figured I'd give this a little bump.
I'm so tired! *weeps* I actually had to WORK on the set of this new TV show, and my feet are so swollen I actually can't fit them inside my shoes anymore. This hasn't happened since New York!

Okay, that LOOKED like a lot, but if you can picture how many times I ACTUALLY clicked impatiently, I actually got off easy at 8.
I was going to say...Boy, you must be really tired Tiff!
What's the new show? Sound like anything of interest? Anyone of note in it?!
Sorry to hear about your foot woes. Will you at least have some recoup time before having to spend endless hours on set again?
Not catching up on what has been said...
I just have to say, "NICOLE HAS A NEW AVATAR?!?! WHAT?!!"
New show isn't too interesting - it's called "Kyle X/Y" and it's a new sci-fi series that's going to be on ABC Family (a station we don't get in Canada so I have really no interest in how it turns out )). No one interesting or famous - the only "name" is the actor who played the UPS guy/Jennifer Coolidge's love interest in the first Legally Blonde movie. Yesterday was the very first day of principle photography, which is great because people are just getting to know everyone else and no cliques have been formed yet.
I'm also working on a movie called "White Noise 2" (I've never seen the first one) with the hottie in my avatar, Nathan Fillion. I'm not the star-struck fangirly type and I had no idea who was in this movie until I was at craft services, and Nathan started chatting with me about teabags (of all things), and I looked up at him and nearly crapped myself, because he played Caleb in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I'm SUCH a fan. I called up my best friend, who's an obsessed Buffy freak to the n-th degree, and even though I've worked on set with more famous "names", this is the only time she's squealed. (Her MSN avatar was Nathan's nekkid back and backside.)
Now I'm working on that one again tomorrow, and then "Kyle X/Y" on Monday, so no time to rest. I'm so tired!
Nic, how's Queer Eye going? Any good shops to tell me about?
By the way, that reminds me, I was talking with some people who worked closely with Al on the set of "88 Minutes" and they said that Al's a generous professional and wonderful to work with, but apparently the director is the BIGGEST asshole, and the only time anyone saw Al raise his voice was when he was talking with him. Apparently the whole shoot was nightmarish from a set-dynamics standpoint - and it wasn't from the departments fighting with each other, it was because it was "us" versus "the director", and things were always tense. And get this, Al apparently uttered the words, "Do you want to be known as the one who made the bad Al Pacino film?" (I'm paraphrasing that last half, but it definitely started with, "Do you want to be known as..." and ended with something to do with Al Pacino and f*cking up this movie...badly.)
Sorry you're so swamped and tired, Tiff! But at least you're making money through all that work, right?
Yeah, but it's going to be another week or so before I see any cheques, and in the mean time my back is still hurting (my doc had nothing productive to tell me today except, "Maybe see a chiropractor?") so I'm just whiny and cranky.
Dude, you're a Veronica Mars fan???
Um, I'm obsessed with Veronica Mars. Best. Show. Ever.
I'm sorry about your back. Funny, five minutes ago I read an article in Vogue about how to use super-slow weight training to ease back pain. But of course you're so busy that you probably don't have time to do super-slow weight training all that often. I hope it gets better.
Yeah, Pat...it was my St. Patty's day avatar, but I'm home now for spring break, so I haven't had a chance to change it back yet. Hmmm...maybe I have one of my kitties, that I could put on in the interim. I'll have to check that after I'm done here.
Nothing new at QE. I had off this week (which kind of sucks, because they were in Vegas, and the office would have been empty. I have a feeling it may have been good times at the office! "Office Olympics" a la The Office, perhaps?!?!?)
Thanks for the Pachy tidbit, Tiff. He seemed cool at Ui. Kind of aloof, but cool. I'll have to look up and see who this director is that is pissing him off so much!
Anyway, gotta run. I have to pack my stuff up (should be fun trying to jam all my SH*T into my messenger bag).
Pat, how was your trip to NY? See any good shows?
Pat, how was your trip to NY? See any good shows?
It was awesome. We mostly just hung out with Clay and Sara and worked on the podcast which was exactly what I wanted to do.
The only show that we saw was Sweeney Todd. Highly enjoyable. I am looking to maybe make a return trip in June before my big Thanksgiving trip and will highly consider seeing Sweeney again.
Extremely random post:
Sounds like a great, relaxing trip, Pat! I'm glad you enjoyed Sweeney.
Counting Crows are touring with the Goo Goo Dolls this summer. Nic (or anyone else able to make it to the NYC area), interested in catching a show? I'm excited. The Goo Goo Dolls aren't my favorite, but I have to admit that I enjoy some of their songs. Although I've heard that they're getting to be the second act on this tour, which will really piss me off if its true.
I saw North Country this weekend and I really enjoyed it. I love Charlize Theron, Frances McDormand, and Sissy Spacek, and seeing them all in the same movie was awesome (although their talents probably could have been better used).
I just went out to dinner where I stuffed myself with peanut butter cup pancakes and I think I'm going to explode now.
Funny, I was just bitching yesterday about how CC hadn't been touring in AGES. Not a big fan of GGD though, I must say. I don't dislike them, but they definitely wouldn't be at the top of my list of groups for them to tour around with on a double bill. Now, Barenaked Ladies. They're good, clean, Canadian fun! Are the dates up, Claire? I'd definitely be interested in seeing them. I think The Who (well, Daltry, Townshend and whoever they dig up to play bass and drums) are supposed to be touring this summer too. I missed them the last time around, so I'm excited about catching them sometime this summer.
I liked North Country. It was kind of middle ground. Not really award-worthy, but better than...say, 99% of what's out there now. Ugh, I hate the spring for movies. It's really slim pickings. I think the only two on my radar at the moment are V for Vendetta and Thank You for Smoking (which I can't wait to see!).
Claire, your "dinner" sounds yummy! I haven't had pancakes in ages. I went out for breakfast with my folks this morning and I had big plans for some blueberry pancakes, but I was feeling kind of funky in the car on the way there, and figured it probably wouldn't be the best idea to have something that heavy before getting on a bus for 4+ hours...especially after getting violently ill earlier this week. *shudder* I hate being sick.
Girl, peanut butter cup pancakes? *crosses legs* Mmm...yyyyeah. Thanks a lot, now I'm craving it!
Mab, that avatar scares me. I don't know why.
My feet hurt so badly I could hardly stand. "Black Christmas" wraps tomorrow, and it's a studio shoot. My two favorite things! Can't wait. I hope I get some crew gear.
Oh, we also shot a scene for "Kyle X/Y" today where Kyle has to walk down a street completely buck-ass naked. This is, like, one of the busiest traffic and pedestrian streets in Vancouver. 5 lanes of traffic, shoppers crammed on the sidewalks, and since the show is somewhat low budget, we don't have a permit to block too much off or reroute people (except to close off the street he's walking down). And some CRAZY dude actually got SO offended by Matt Dallas's nudity that he busts into the shot SCREAMING and goes STRAIGHT for the "Seattle police" (a "picture car" - or set-dec car, basically - and two extras dressed up like cops) and starts FREAKING OUT about it, even though a) he's got a "privacy patch" on, and b) the RCMP (the Canadian police) were RIGHT NEXT TO THE SEATTLE "COPS".
F*cking idiot, but SO funny.
HAHA. Sounds like an interesting day at work, Tiff! If I remember correctly from Legally Blonde, Matt Dallas is pretty hot! I certainly wouldn't have minded seeing him walking down the street buck-naked.
Mabs, there are no dates yet set for the CC/GGD tour, but I'll keep ya posted.
How is it to be back at school?
ETA: Tiff, your hand twin is on Leno!

Don't you be hatin' on George, missy! After some of your gems, I don't know how any avatar can possibly freak you out.
Tiff, sounds like pretty good times at work. A wrap (will this mean lots of food and SWAG?!?!? Keep me posted!) and nudist hilarity. Excellent. And a "privacy patch"?? I always thought it was a "cock sock." Will that get edited?!?!
Definitely keep me posted on the CC/GGD front, Claire. Hopefully tix won't be crazy-expensive.
Oh, speaking of concerts. I went to my Coldplay-Christmas concert last night. The friend who bought me the tix couldn't make it at the last minute, so I went with someone else. It was a lot of fun and a great concert (until I got home and realized they only played 17 songs...that BLOWS!) but the transportations SUUUUUCCCCKKKKEDDDD! Actually, we ended up making out pretty well, all things considered, but...It was at Nassau Coliseum on LI and we had to take the LIRR and then a bus to get there. And despite getting out of the arena faster than I think I ever have at any concert before, we were still like 75 people back in line for the bus (which was supposed to be running once every half hour!). After the first bus came, we realized that there was another stop within eye shot from where we were, so we ran up there and caught a bus that came 15 minutes early. By the time the huge line that formed got on the bus/paid, etc, we zipped to the train station, miraculously getting there 4 minutes before the train left at 12:05. The next one would have been 1:20!
Anyway, the show was fine. Same setlist as last time except no Rush of Blood to the Head, Everything's Not Lost, and Low, and What If? and Trouble replaced the 3. I think we heard What If? at MTV, but it's better than X&Y, which they'd been playing. I was hoping since we were a night 2 show, they'd play Green Eyes instead of Trouble, but no such luck. People bitch about U2's shows setlist/length-wise, but I think for $80, Coldplay could do better than 17 songs, with the exact same setlist every night (well, other than WI?/X&Y being swapped out a couple weeks ago as a perm. switch).
Oh, and Richard Ashcroft opened. He was really good. I think he did about 8 songs and closed with Bittersweet Symphony. As the music started he shouted "Do you know what it's like to write a F*CKING CLASSIC?!?!?!?" and the crowd went nuts. Twas great!
Guess that's about it. I'm super-tired, but I don't feel like I could go back to sleep (I didn't end up falling asleep until 3 or something). At least I don't have classes today, but I do have a bunch of SH*T to do. Ugh!
