"I really do think that if Madonna fattened up a bit, she wouldn't look so extreme."

Um, yeah. She used to be juicy and voluptuous and full of life. Now she looks haggard and dehydrated and covers up her hands in shame.

I survived this thread.

Her face doesn't look too waxy in those one, though. I'll give her that.

Phyllis, Bette was all over TV and magazines when she had her initial "makeover." She did NOT keep it a secret or pretend that she never had plastic surgery. She actually joked about it.

Well, at $350 for the noselbleeds it ain't that hard.

Jane, I just pulled it from offline. I mean, I know they like to get people at bad angles and stuff by still. Ouch.

And Miss P, are you sure? I've never seen her admit to plastic surgery.

LMFAO Any moron can pick a bad picture of her from the web, we are all caught in unflattering poses from time to time.

I could post a million great pics of her but it would mean bugger all.

By the way she didn't move to the UK when she married guy, she was already pretty much living here at that point.
And even though the UK press can be horrid at times (though have calmed down a lot now) they treat Madge with respect, i guess after 25 years on top shes earned it.
Her looks are fine, sometimes she looks to thin, sometimes to muscly, sometimes she looks tired etc etc, but to me she looks great.

And with this thread supposed to be "a review" of the concert it dont half focus on her age.

I agree with songanddanceman2 10000000 % !!! For every bad picture of her, there are a hundred that she looks fantastic !!!! Have we now fallen to the lowest level, of judging an ARTIST by their looks on a bad day ????
She is still the BIGGEST star of the world, no matter if some people like it or not ! And even if she is not as big in the US as she used to be, so what ? The rest of the planet ADORES her !!!! Even in this hard economic climate and with these expensive prices, she sold out HUGE stadiums in Europe and Latin America and almost ALL US arenas this year !!

YES FindingNamo I totally agree with your statement "Maybe she does look great for 50. But she looks AWFUL for Madonna."

My comments on her appearance really were more about her body than her face. I could not stop looking at her arms without thinking - muscle and bone - ewe. Wicked powerful legs but on that starved looking frame of a body...not sexy TO ME.

For me...I didn't see the sex symbol I envisioned of Madonna in person live and on the stage in front of me. Her weight and thin body were visually distracting.

As a business woman I think she is one hell of a role model. She drives full force to get what she wants and she gets it! Madonna IS amazing.

Yes - probably the NJ crowds (versus the European crowds) were the difference. We all know that you can see the same Broadway show at a Wednesday matinee and then on a Friday night and get two completely different experiences.

Madonna's Hard Candy is also one of the top selling albums of the year both world-wide and in the U.S. Obviously, there's still people out there who like her music.

Madonna is still big business in the states, still getting number 1 albums and the tours sell out there, she aint as big there as she used to be but im sure she aint loosing sleep over it lol.To be honest as the rest of the world has noticed the US charts are very sound a like anyway.RnB and rap.

So, I saw the show Saturday night (with surprise guest Pharell!) and I thought it was a blast. Was it her best show? No. That title still goes to Blonde Ambition. Was it her worst? No. At best, it was her at her best. At worst, it was an entertaining concert.

She looked fantastic, She has more energy at 50 than I have ever had. The show was massively innovative, both technically and artistically and yet simpler than any show yet in places where the focus was on the music.

And the music was terrific from kick ass ROCK versions of Borderline to Hung Up to the dance heaven of Into the Groove, Vogue, Give It To Me, Beat Goes On, Heartbeart, etc etc etc to the multicultural deliciousness of La Isla Bonita and Devil Wouldn't Recognize You to the camp of She's Not Me to the most glorious Madonna has ever sounded with "You Must Love Me"--completely making up for her pitchy Oscar performance.

My 30 something ass had fun and so did my 20 something boyfriend.

She's still the pop superstar queen going strong after over 25 years of gloriousness.

And if you have a problem with that, I have a special message for you:

To all you Madonna haters!!!!

I was there on Saturday too and had a great time.

Though it was better than her past couple of concerts. Less "dark" and more about just having fun. I didn't feel like she was preaching some mystical message at me but just out there having a good time. There were less slow parts so the Garden was on it's feet for the whole show.

Vouge and Like a Prayer sounded better than ever before and she sounded surprisingly great during "You Must Love Me."

"For me...I didn't see the sex symbol I envisioned of Madonna in person live and on the stage in front of me."

I hear you, but at the same time I'm not sure if being a sex symbol is currently her main focus. Her thin muscular body and face are the results of how she prepares for each tour. Between tours, she doesn't look as thin and muscular. It's her discipline in order to be able to deliver the quality show that she's known for. I applaud her for that!

I have considered myself a huge Madonna fan for 20 years...until recently. Her lackluster "Hard Candy" combined with what I can only attribute to boredom, has left me a little bored with her.

When she announced the Sticky & Sweet tour, I kind of shrugged my shoulders and decided to sit this one out. When i saw photos of the show, it looked cobbled together rather clumsily, and I was thrilled i didn't spend a penny on this show.

However, I do have friends who felt the same way, but had a blast at the show.

I have no doubt M will come out with a great cd in the next few years. I'd never count her out.

I just think at the moment, she lacks inspiration, and it shows.

As for her looks - IMO she looks kinda awful for 50.

Look at Lena Olin - 53, gorgeous and still very sexy.

Madonna's body is certainly something to admire - pure determination and discipline. But that many years being hard on her body has taken its toll on her face. She needs to put on 10 lbs to regain some fullness in her face.

Homegirl looks beat. She needs some warm milk, a cookie, and a nap.

So, in conclusion:

"She looked fantastic," NOT sexist.

"She looked awful," sexist, misogynistic, what do her looks have to do with anything, that's a terrible thing to say, HATERS.

I hope that's clear now to everybody else.

Those who live by negativity and hate, die by negativity or hate, Namo.

I think that was written in Hebrew on one of her screens. That and "I hate Finding Namo" in pig latin.

I'm going to see Madonna this week. For those who saw her at MSG this past week, what time did she start the show? Also, was the arena kept warm like her past tours?

Went to her final show last night. Amazing show. Two hours, 20 songs, but really no slow moments. Heavy on Hard Candy songs, but loved her rock versions of Hung Up and especially Borderline. And folks, say what you will, but the fact that she can dance and run around the stage for all but maybe 10 minutes of those two hours, at any age? Astonishing. And the production itself was stellar.

Bad part? Show started at 9:40pm. Some of us had to work this morning, Madonna! But when it was over, I totally wanted her to start all over.
