I was just going to say that, Taz. Cheno will win on the BWW write in vote...
BTW, you're brave Taz. I'm not going near the main board today.

I loved Mary Poppins and loads of people vilified me for it. I honestly liked it in London, and it's almost the same in NY.
It's a fangirl thing I guess.
I've heard a lot of good things about Poppins' Linnie.
It's not that bad D2! surprisingly
I was pleasantly surprised by MARY POPPINS, although I have to admit my expectations were low. It's not the greatest show ever and could stand to have about 40 minutes cut from it, but it was by and large a sweet, entertaining show. Gavin Lee is fabulous, as is Rebecca Luker and Jane Carr. Ashley Brown is somewhat of a non-entity, which is a problem when it's the title role. But the four year old I took to seet it loved her.
I really enjoyed Poppins..especially "step in time"

I'll admit and it's not a great book, and it's childish. However, a lot of people have just slated the music altogether, and that's just plain wrong. The tunes are decent, and the orchestrations bring it up to the standard of a really good score. I'll admit, Bill Brohn indulged himself once again by starting the Overture with a Tymps roll (every bloody overture he does seems to start like that), but still, it's a gorgeous sound.
And the lyrics, although a little soppy at times, are meaningful. SOme of them were my sig for months. I nearly cried one day when I was India, listening to the finale, because I realized what she was saying was exactly how I felt at that very moment. But that's an aside...
As a Boston Conservatory student, I must admit that I'm experiencing a certain evil glee that CCM's golden girl Ashley Brown was snubbed. Is that wrong of me? **wicked cackled**
I have SO little desire to see Poppins.

Laura Michelle Kelly was fabulous, though. And yes, Lee is brilliant. I really want to walk upside-down on that proscenium!
Linnie doll, what meaning is there in supercalifragilistic?
Or Chim Chim Cheree for that matter?

I said they can be soppy at times, but they're meaningful. What I shoudl have said was that they're soppy, but they can be meaningful at times.
Well, at least the finale was meaningful to me when i was sitting in the back of that bus stuck in traffic on Parks Street in Calcutta.
I'm just teasing you Linnie.
Lyrics can mean different things to different people, I'm glad you found them meaningful.

If you lose your hatred of Brown, or gain an interest in Mary Poppins, then go see it and you'll understand why we all want to do it.
Well, it will probably be running a long time, Actr, so hopefully you'll get your chance! And then we'll all come and cheer you on!

I WANT TO BE BERT TOO!
Apart from the lyrics, the finale is nice, isn't it? With (Spoiler coming) her flying up to, well, whatever that place is called. Quite cool. Best view in the front of the dress, I was there.
I'm not a big MP fan
