Thank him for his service.
God Bless America.
BTW, I did not bring this thread up to fuel any political stuff that has been going on tonight. I am just excited that my brother in law is coming home.
I am thrilled for you and your entire family.
Everything I write is not politically motivated. They want you to believe that he is a monster.
God Bless you.

Kel, as a long time buddy of yours with a very close military connection you are well aware of, I personally am very glad you're finally going to see your brother in law. May all of us with connections to military personnel experience the same joy.
Who are "he" and "they"? I have had support from many on BWW about my brother in law. This is not a political thing, there are no "them" vs "us" feelings in regards to my friendships here on BWW. I am simply letting those who have showed concern in the past be updated about his status. If you are going to try to spin this as some political "them vs us" thing then please refrain from posting on this thread. I don't want my family used as fuel for your own little war on here.
That's awesome, Kel! I imagine your family will be very happy to see him again.
Thanks Namo and Jerby. We care excited to see him. He treats me like his little sister which means that in a month I will be sick of being picked on again and might want to ship him back over, but for now I am glad he's coming home.
God Bless you, your family and friends.

What wonderful news.
That's great!
I'm glad to hear some more good news.
Kel--I'm reminded of a particularly jubilant song from the end of WW2 called "Hallelujah, My Guy's Come Home!" It was sung by a honey-voiced band singer like Helen Ward or Helen Forrest or maybe Dinah Shore in an easy swinging arrangement. We used it for background music in a play once. If I can find it, I'll send you an MP3.
Meanwhile, I think you know that everyone on BWW thanks your brother-in-law for his service. Actually, I know you know that :-}
Hallelujah, your guy's come home!
Thanks PJ, FW and Kringas! It means a lot.
that's great Kel!!!
That's incredible news, Kelley! Give him some extra long hugs from all of us.
During their musical tenures in Europe, pianist Mel Powell and drummer Ray McKinley penned "Oranges and Lemons," a composition first introduced during the war by Glenn Miller's AEF Orchestra. An adaptation of Powell's instrumental part resulted in the commercial hit "My Guy's Come Back." In 1945, the revamped song scored top fifteen hits for Dinah Shore and Benny Goodman during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, respectively. The blissful rendition by vocalist Helen Forrest featured here made a smaller splash in the spring of 1946, but its belated appearance on record mirrored the ongoing process of demobilization, as many Americans still awaited the homecoming of their uniformed loved ones.
Found a RealMusic file (.rm not.mp3) of a 1945 recording of "My Guy's Come Back" sung by the wonderful black singer and actress Thelma Carpenter, who later replaced Pearl Bailey in the all-black Broadway cast of Hello, Dolly. PM me your email address if you 'd like it.

I love when a perfect soundtrack song pops up for real life, it's like Life Imitating Grey's Anatomy, or whatever.
Thanks guys! PJ, check your PMs, and Namo- I love your sig.
Kel- What great news! Have a wonderful reunion. It IS thrilling, isn't it? A good friend of mine is returning from Afghanistan soon and I am very happy about it.
Excellent news, Kel. I'm very happy for him and your family.
I am so happy for you and your family! Thank him for his service and I am so glad he is coming home!
I just got off the phone with him and he is safe and sound back on US soil. It was so weird to hear his voice on the phone.
