Isn't she amazing?
p.s. is a great movie, and Laura is excellent as per ususal.
How can she not have an Oscar yet? Here's hoping for 2005...
Laura Linney is to me what IdinaChenoJoeyEdenwhathaveyou are to the 7th grade set.
I ADORE LAURA LINNEY.
Great in TALES OF THE CITY and THE LARAMIE PROJECT.
I loved her in Sight Unseen this summer--really lovely. Of course, she's brilliant in You Can Count on Me, as well!
All anyone has to do is watch the last scene of YOU CAN COUNT ON ME and they'll understand why she's destined to be one of the greats.
I have seen her on stage in The Crucible, Hedda Gabler and The Seagull. Brilliant performances, all.
I was lucky enough to see her as Goody Twoshoes in THE CRUCIBLE. She's one of a kind.

I absolutely love Laura Linney. I would have given her the Oscar for You Can Count on Me over Julia Roberts.
Talented, gorgeous, and friendly. Triple threat right there...
and wonderful comedic timing. Loved her in the last season of Frasier.

Anyone else seen p.s?
If not, what are you waiting for? As well as Laura Linney, it has Marcia Gay Harden!

How can NO ONE from this board have mentioned Tales of the City yet?!?!?!?!? HELLLLOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
I agree with Matt about the last scene in You Can Count On Me. It makes me cry every time I watch it. I can't wait for Kinsey.
Scroll up to Glebb, DGrant. I think I listed TALES OF THE CITY.
I especially loved that her character was reading the book NICHOLAS AND ALEXANDRA in one scene.
Glebb - that's an amazing observation (about the book)... I'll have to watch more closely next time.
Good morning NYadgal.
Look for Mary Ann reading NICHOLAS AND ALEXANDRA (the paper back) when she is working at the crisis Center.

Good morning, Glebb.
I will. Thank you for the info...
Hello DGrant. :)
Didn't you love TALES OF THE CITY?

Glebb - the books are some of my favorites - and the initial TV adaptation (NOT the followups!) I can't imagine anyone else but Laura in that role now, and Olympia was perfection (along with Bruce Campbell, but that's a different story altogether )
I also thought her performance in Life of David Gale was incredible.
Didn't love the movie, but she was brilliant.
(I think she's brilliant in everything, however...)

(...she is indeed, Addy.)
Yay for her Oscar nomination! I know she has tough competition, but she simply must win! Although, I love Cate too...hmmm...they really both should have Oscars by now. Go Laura!! Go Cate!
I loved her in Love Actually!
Last I heard, she's signed on to do a movie called "Driving Lessons" with the kid who plays Ron in the Harry Potter movies.
I'm glad she's honest, because I completely agree.

Laura Linney was asleep in a hotel room in Vancouver when the phone rang. And then? "All hell broke loose. My phone almost exploded," the "Kinsey" actress said, laughing, as phones continued to ring off the hook in the background . "I'm still coming into consciousness and every phone in the world is ringing," the actress continued. Linney said she was in shock and happy, but had some mixed feelings. "Of course you're happy for yourself, but it's such a communal effort. I certainly wish Liam (Neeson) had been nominated and that (writer/director) Bill Condon had gotten some more recognition. So you're happy but it's ... it's a strange thing to go though." Linney was in Canada shooting "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," and despite the nomination, was going to try to be an acting trooper. "It's a big day on set. I'm going to let myself jump around my hotel room and be very, very happy, and then I'm going to go to work."

She is so gracious. I love Laura! And I hope she wins, so she can just that at the podium!
