No, it's just that what you write is predictable. So many times I haven't written anything and you post exactly what I would have predicted you would but I didn't. As has been said, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Same goes for me.
You have a technique. You have key words. Your keywords are "fine" and "great" ("As for Ghosttown I think it's a great song", of course you do, honey, of course you do). Your technique is to say somebody somewhere raved about whatever things she has done that is not up to par ("in fact her performance even with the fall was deemed the best of the night"); and to quote pre-order and chart figures, and arrive at a conclusion that is demonstrably not true but that, god love you, I guess you honestly believe ("she's still on top").
Look, there are several issues here. The horror of her getting yanked off stage is one of them. The shoes may seem stupid to you but it's just my thing, feminism happened so women don't have to do that to themselves. It's ridiculous. And there's your thing of being able to have an excuse for everything. ("It was her first performance in two and a half years so of course….").
I also think you hit on something that demonstrates, for me, why she *isn't* great at what she does. When you wrote "She dances her ass off" it dawned on me that truly GREAT performers don't look like they're working so hard. The artistry is in the appearance of effortlessness. I do think the minute the switch in my brain flipped where i went from fan to OVER HER was when I paid good money to sit in the overheated arena during the Confessions tour and she badgered the audience that we'd better be jumping during some stupid song about jumping or another because "I'm working my ass off up here." Yes, girl, that's why you're getting overpaid the big bucks so songandanceman can claim that your tour revenue proves something about your work. I'm sorry the things that she chooses to do are so tricking taxing for her, but that's her choice and personally nobody needs to see her huffing and puffing with dancers whirling around her while she pushes the male dancers away from her (does she do much else than that at this point?).
I tell you, if she put out anything that evoked as exciting a response as the stuff she did that was good, I promise you I would say it. That "Living for Love" song just starts out way too low and I find it unpleasant to listen to. And again, it's just disappointing that the truly creative part (as opposed to the workmanlike part) of Madonna couldn't create something else to do. Something NEW, like she used to.

Oh Namo, please for the live of god don't call anybody else predictable when it comes to the subject of Madonna, you wave that flag higher than any fan.
Just because i preset facts to back up a point means nothing, sorry but i like the song Ghosttown, but i can also tell you i HATE the S.E.X on the album, i also dislike a few others, as much as you like to think i'm some epic 36 year old fan girl i aint blind to her flaws, but unlike you i am not blind to the positives either.
It's strange you saying about LFL as im pretty sure on another thread you didn't seem to mind the song, now apparently its unpleasant and starts too low (what an earth does that even mean?). You keep saying that if she does something you like you will say, but she could write the most perfect song on the planet and you would STILL find something to dislike, because that is you, it's your odd thing, to predict her doom time and time again. To jump from her sound to image, attitude to erm shoes, you will ALWAYS find something.
And yes she does dance her arse off, and that's one hell of an absurd thing to say that it should be effortless or appear effortless, she aint doing Broadway here, she aint a Broadway powerhouse triple threat, she is a pop artist putting on a show, a very energetic show. I simply meant she works hard to give the audience what they want, but of course you found that one statement to focus on and make some pretty (yet again) weak and simplistic statement to further strengthen your very opinion on what her problems are.
You are not her audience, you have no interest in her other than the unhealthy obsession to be negative about her, so really why do you care? Your fall out of love with her on the Confessions tour is widely known, we get it, that seems to have turned in to some strange negative obsession however that takes you on a mission to be the lone voice in her career, the one that has to be right because you said so.

Also, maybe I did say that about Living For Love but I don't ever remember hearing it before the Brits clip and then I went back and found the Grammys performance. And I think the lower register is unpleasant.

My dad jokes that 50 is the new 25 then questions at what age do pop stars today start acting like grown-ups. I admire Madonna for her longevity in the business. But, if her face required some adjustments then would it not follow that the rest of the packaging could use some tweaking as well?
I prefer to see my showbiz favorites evolving along with me. We don't have to physically or mentally age in lockstep with one another, but it's comforting when those favorites reassure me of what's still possible and in good taste at our respective ages.
I no longer aspire to be 25 forever...been there, done that!
Why? Well, as my grandma used to put it...you have to live long enough to understand some things. Interestingly enough, my grandma was Madonna's age when I came into this world.
I prefer to see my showbiz favorites evolving along with me. We don't have to physically or mentally age in lockstep with one another, but it's comforting when those favorites reassure me of what's still possible and in good taste at our respective ages.

Im cool with aging stars, but I do prefer entertainers to be able to entertain on stage-sing, move, dance and not illicit sympathy from the audience. Liza can no longer sing, dance and at times stands but still insists on charging top dollar for whatever she thinks she is doing. I also paid top dollar to see Loretta Lynn and she could barely sing, sat in a chair and had her grand daughters sing every other song. The whole show was an hour and Lynn sang maybe 8 2 minute songs (her songs are short)
I think there is a time to hang up performing when you can no longer do it due to impairments. Madonna still has all the goods and knows how to entertain.
