I adore Madonna but I’ll never understand the blind devotion to her actions. Starting after midnight is beyond unprofessional. I don’t care who you are and what you have done on previous tours.
Unless she’s playing a late night supper club or speakeasy (which may be next if she keeps this up) with an advertised midnight start time it’s not acceptable.
Rule number one in entertainment is start on time and end on time because of all the countless workers who hinge on you. It’s a sign of respect. I spoke to many workers at BAM who were exhausted by her antics.
I’ve seen many of her tours and never had a late start until Madame X.
I feel she’s truly showing her disconnect with reality and her fans. It lacks compassion. I’m not saying she’s a monster or the worst person ever but she’s acting foolish and alienating a dwindling fan base.
At the end of the day the fans are your employer. They have a right to boo you if they find your behavior offensive. They are your bottom line. Disrespect breeds disrespect. Why should they be expected to be “the bigger person.”
If Madonna has some insight outside of her own reality she’d feel bad that her lone male dancer was being booed at the start of the show and she’s do her damndest to make sure that never happens again.
