Sunday night’s show started at 10:40pm, not 10:20. Finished at 1am.

Yeah, official start time is 9:30pm, so no need to get there earlier. Also the queue moved quickly.

The seats inside are really small and uncomfortable with no legroom. So sitting there for several hours waiting and then throughout a long show was bad. There’s an area inside the theatre where you can get them to open your phone case and you can use your phones. So you can just wait there until the show is about to start. At least you won’t be bored and are not suffering in those seats.

If anyone is in the area, I have two extra tickets to tonight's show. They're not great seats. Last row of the right orchestra. Those were the seats that I was assigned when I won the lottery to have the privilege to purchase tickets. I paid $400 each, including fees. Make me an offer. I'm going to lose money either way. Might as well give someone a chance to see the show for a reasonable price. PM me.

It started at 10:30! I was the only analog watch-wearer in my area so about every 15 minutes someone asked me for the time. The last time I was asked, it was 10:25 and it began moments later. And it let out right at 1:00 am.

I got there at 9pm and had way more than enough time to wait in line for merch (wasn't a long wait, and there are two merch stands, one on each side of the lobby), wait in line for a bottle of water (LOTS of concessions on both the first and second levels), use the restroom, chat with my friend in the mezz lobby for a good 20 minutes, until we went in and sat down around 9:45. She and I didn't sit together so I was on my own for those 45 minutes (she brought her Kindle to read - smart!) but it was fine. I had a good time people-watching, recognizing some of the hardcore fans I've been seeing at her shows for years, etc.

The volume was almost uncomfortably high, but it was needed when she talked to us because people would scream, of course.

It was one of the best concerts of hers I've been to tbh as far as the overall experience (not as far as song list; nothing will ever beat Re-Invention for me). The no phone thing was awesome and I wasn't riddled with, "omg I should take a picture NO, JUST ENJOY THE SHOW" thoughts I have at every concert. And she genuinely enjoyed it, said she's waited 30 years to play to an intimate audience like that where she could see everyone because we were so close. She chatted a lot, sat down in an empty seat near the front and talked to the luckiest woman for a good 5 minutes asking where she lives and what she does (and drinking her beer - with permission).

Her Polaroid selfie went for $1,000.

She departs the show through the orchestra center aisle; I was 3 people off it and it was awesome to be that close to her while she walked past singing. (I was in the Golden Triangle at the MDNA tour and was very close but she was also like 5' above me on stage.)

I was there last night. She went on at 11pm. I find that so disrespectful to an audience. What is she doing during that time that she has to make people wait that long?

I'm very thankful for this thread though which helped me minimize the time spent in the theater and save money from the $25!!!! vodka soda. I absolutely think you do not need to arrive before 10pm. There was no line to get in, and minimal lines for merch ($350 velvet Madame X jacket!) and bar.

I wasn't as bothered by the no phones thing as it was a distraction free show and beforehand had me chatting with some friendly audience members.

My seats were in row G 2 seats off the aisle on the mezz on the side and the sight-line was perfect.

As for the show, if you like Madame X you'll love it. If you're expecting Madonna the hit parade, not so much. Of the new songs Medellin definitely came off the best. I appreciated what she was trying to do and LOVED the Portugal section but alot of it plays better at say 9pm versus at 12:00am. I was definitely fading in some sections.

I’m seeing it in 2 days and it says it starts at 8:30. Is that the same time everyone else had when she didn’t go on until 11?

Judy suffered from a terrible addiction which was out of her control. Madonna is just an egotistical diva.

Exactly, Jordan. You get pumped up at a concert with the loud music and energy, people taking photos and videos. They played jazz music the night I saw it and everyone was falling asleep. The poor staff at BAM were so kind and luckily one told me that she would not be going on before 10:30 so we left and had a few beers down the block. When we returned the same people were sitting in their seats looking bored stiff.

Madonna mentioned several times throughout the show that she wanted connection from the audience, hence the no phone thing. She wants and demands attention from us but then doesn’t return us the favor. She was even rude to the people offering her wads of cash for a selfie, BEFORE mentioning that it would “help some African children.” She has always had a problem being vulnerable and warm, and the theatrics and “shock value” don’t compensate for it anymore.

I thought the show was boring, tacky, and her “patter” was absolutely vulgar, even for Madonna. I found her crude, and I’m not a prude in the least. It was way too long and the set looked like high school theatre. I’ll never see a Madonna concert again.

I can't imagine why an artist would make her fans sit around for hours, start a show at 11:00 p.m. and send them home at 1:30 in the morning on a weeknight no less. It's one thing if some technical gltich caused the show to be delayed this long on a specific evening but this just seems like a regular feature of every show. I'm sure she's surrounded by an army of people telling her it's totally cool cause she's worth waiting for and sellout after sellout is saying it won't stop anyone from coming and paying top dollar to do so, but still it seems awfully inconsiderate.

You can be excited about getting something and upset about it’s delivery method.

All I think about is what if she's doing something terrible to herself, like Michael and the propofol, and like they can't wake her up any earlier without killing her.

I got the same email opening night.

The time has been 9.30pm since the beginning, yet tickets are saying half past 8.

I don't mind the late start, I'm a night owl so won't be falling asleep at 10.30pm. she seems to like performing later, that's fine, she just needs to advertise it as so.
