Zone 5 detectives were handling the case initially, but it was turned over to the robbery squad last night after the case made national headlines.
When Ms. Todd reported the incident, "nowhere did she say to the officer that made reference to the bumper sticker. I don't know how she came to the conclusion that he noticed the sticker," Cmdr. Ross said.
He said the description of the robber as a 6-foot 4-inch, 200-pound black man is similar to that of a man who robbed a Liberty Avenue bank in recent weeks.
Police were checking surveillance video of the Wednesday ATM incident.
Several employees at nearby businesses last night said they were unaware of the attack.
And the police did not photograph her.
So if the person who brutally beat and mutilated her is caught, what will the police use as evidence against him? She wouldn't seek medical attention so they can't use any medical professional's testimony. If she told the police her story the way she told it to Drudge, they would have to know the story would go viral, in which case they look unbelievably stupid for not insisting she at least be photographed.
Are the police in PA that completely incompetent and stupid? I don't think so.
I don't understand the photo.I admit I haven't been following this story all that closely, but I did see the photo of her face with the backwards "B". But if the cops didn't take any photos, then who took that photo and posted it online? If it was her or her friend, that is certainly a bizarre thing to do after you've been robbed and beaten up.

It appears far too neat of a wound to be done in the heat-of-the-moment. All that black eye and the whites of her eyes are, well, white.
I think back to the photos of that model who was slashed (marla hanson?), and had big zipper scars and bloody eyes from the wounds.
It's rather sad how many are willing to blame this somehow on the national campaign. If this girl did this to herself, she's a sick, sick individual.

There's no feud. Sorry to disappoint your puerile interests. romatico (no capital R), posted lies about me in this thread, and I called the sicko on it. He claims I'm sending him disturbing PMs, yet has not screen capped a single one of them. I reported him to the moderators. I was only setting the record straight. I do not send PMs. I never initiated a PM in the entire time I've been here. I only respond to PMs sent to me, and they have been few and far between. I still have every one I've ever received or sent. None of them were to or from romatico. And none of them were even remotely disturbing.

Anyone remember 1980's talk show host Morton Downey Jr.? He was supposedly attacked by a gang of skinheads in an airport bathroom (!) They supposedly beat him and kicked him, and drew swastikas on his face with markers...
...except the swastikas were drawn backwards... as if done in a mirror... by Downey himself.
Any self-respecting Neo-Nazi would know how to draw a swastika correctly.
The police determined it was a hoax, and refused to investigate further.
In the past month in the Chicago area, we have had:
A white girl who worked at a sandwich shop who claimed an "Midlle-Eastern" looking man kidnapped her and assaulted her. It was later revealed she made the whole thing up.
A female Muslim college student who claimed she was attacked by a group of white men who hurled anti-muslim epiphets. It was later revealed she made the whle thing up.

Ashley Todd is a member of the National College Republican Committee. The National College Republican Committee is famous for its race-baiting stunts and media savvy (or, at least, attempted media savvy). Every little College Republican basically considers him or herself a Lee Atwater in training. But they're so, so bad at their stupid stunts!
Back in 2006, a Michigan College Republican named Justin Zatkoff claimed to have been beaten senseless by blacks and/or violent homosexuals. His photo showed a nasty black eye and he was certain the culprits were either militant blacks or militant gays. He just couldn't remember which ones did it! The Ann Arbor police finally revealed, shockingly, that Zatkoff was just beaten up by his high school buddies.

Man arrested in slashing of Obama campaigner
A man was arrested Thursday after he verbally abused and then allegedly slashed the face of a Barack Obama campaigner in downtown San Francisco, police said.
The 6 p.m. attack on the unidentified 35-year-old male campaign activist occurred as he was working at Fifth and Market streets, police said. The campaigner had a permit, and officers nearby witnessed what happened next.
According to police, the unidentified suspect approached and began to shout slurs and insults at the campaigner, who listened, thanked the man for his views and asked him to leave.
The angry man complied, but quickly returned and pulled out a knife and slashed the victim in the face. The two officers who witnessed the attack responded, one arresting the suspect and the other driving the victim to the hospital. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

I'm curious to know more about the San Francisco attack. It's unclear whether it was actually politically motivated. It could have been a deranged psycho who locked in on an easily accessible target. I can't imagine that someone would leave and then return simply to violently attack someone in plain view of witnesses during weekday rush hour in downtown San Francisco simply for political reasons.
