There's only a few reasons for "I'm Leaving" threads that I can understand people making, but for the most part they're just unnecessary. Just leave.

However, when people start posting "Where's ___?" threads, maybe you should make an official announcement.

Gah, Racist Raggy- I remember that thread. My favorite part is where she claimed to be suicidal to try and win sympathy.

It seems there is a difference between someone you have read posts from and communicated from for years saying, I am going to be away or out of internet service, or even I need to stop posting, and some annoying weirdo who insists on letting the board know to try to get someone to say "please don't leave."

Although I'm wish all of Raggy's posts were deleted (we don't need that kind of crap on BWW) I'm actually glad they weren't so people could realize what kind of ignorance still exists out there.

My favorite "I'm Leaving" thread has got to be the illustious BroadwayGirlWicked's short lived "Do You Hate Me?" thread and the "I'm leaving don't try and stop me..okay, plllllease stop me!!!!" threads.

The "Do you hate me?" threads have to got be my favorite ones, following closely behind the meltdown and "I'm leaving" threads. Because all of the responses are the same! "I didn't hate you before, but now that you've posted this retarded thread, I do!"

They happen everywhere on my Yankee board on other boards. Of course some of your favorite people disappear without announcing and everyone wonders what the heck happened to them.
We have an "I miss" certain folks on the Yankee board now.

People wouldn't feel the need to leave if everyone behaved politely, or even civilly, to each other. And then there are those who just get fed up decide to keep their distance without announcing it.

No, the "I'm going to go sleep with God and the angels" post was her last.

I'd like to pretend to care, but I don't have sympathy for people that cry suicide to try to get out of responsibility for their actions. There are more than enough truly troubled individuals out there that need help, so I don't need to waste time and energy on immature crap like that.
