Regardless of how you feel about Sinead's letter, Miley's decision to respond by mocking her struggle with mental illness is disgusting and childish.

Sinead keeps writing these letters to Miley, but I'm starting think that maybe "Dear Miley" is just Sinead's equivalent of "Dear Diary."

So Sinead's letters may be a bit long and she does belabor the point, but still...she does have a point. Would a little tweet of remorse be so bad? Maybe Miley still doesn't get it.

First of all, can we go back to the critique of the Wrecking Ball video being "atrocious"? It's not, it's a perfectly fine video. I think people haven't seen much of the world if they think that's atrocious.

I was a fan of Sinead's from the day her first album was released, but she is harder to stay loyal to than any other effed up pop star including hut not limited to the following royal eff ups: Morrissey, Prince and Kanye. When the Pet Shop Boys were mounting their big gay tour many years ago, Sinead was suddenly calling herself a dyke and telling everybody she never came out because she didn't want to be seen as a dyke, and I thought, "Shut up with the d-word, you d-bag." She signed up to co-headline the tour. Weeks before its first date she announced she was pregnant, she wasn't a lesbian, and she dropped out. The tour was scrapped. Since then it's epic silences followed by public insanity.

I thinks it's hilarious somebody dug up Sinead's insane sex starved bipolar tweets for Miley to repost, because she is the last person on the planet who should be offering any sentient being advice on any subject. Sinead had it coming, she only got what she deserved. Her time is long past. Her music uninteresting. There's a new crop of 20-somethings now and it's their turn to be young and wild. Sinead should shut her trap and maybe go make another record nobody will listen to ever.

Her last record, How About I Be Me (And You Be You), was actually quite good - her best in a while. Are you familiar?

Perhaps an unfortunate title in this instance, though.

Yeah, I think it's terrible and she's totally lost whatever she had. I don't think people need to declare themselves members of "teams" of either of these women, but I think it would be great if more people took a stance against the slut-shaming of anybody. I laughed out loud when I saw Sinead's email address is [e-mail]. Of COURSE it is. Cyrus has nothing to apologize for. Who the fu k does Sinead think she is demanding an apology for somebody saying she's crazy? She is demonstrably crazy. And it turns out She Does Want What She Has Not Got: an audience. Maybe her fifth letter will be the breakthrough for old Sinead.

Her goodwill gesture was saying how inspiring Sinead's video had been to her. She owes Sinead nothing more after O'Connor went after her with phony "concern". I'd be disappointed if Miley ever said anything conciliatory to her. Sinead IS crazy. No need to apologize for saying so. Of course Cyrus was saying the situation was "kinda crazy" to Matt Lauer but professional victim Sinead (who once complained to the press that Prince held her hostage against her will) finds some way to be victimized by any action that does not involve her ass getting kissed.

Nothing she wrote was untrue. Before today's public example of crazy, there WAS Sinead O'Connor. It's not like her trolling for sex was the first or last example of her crazy, either. Cyrus wasn't saying being crazy is bad, just maybe that it disqualifies one from judging the public behavior of other people and offering them unsolicited advice. Since it's mental health day, perhaps Sinead could demonstrate the improvement in her struggle by apologizing to Cyrus for feigning concern and refusing to drop the topic.
