I very raely cry @ movies. The only three I can think of:
Camelot ( only the last scene with the boy)
Shindler's List ( but only the modern tribute scene @ the end)
And Tale of Two Cities
specifically from the moment that the little seamstress is placed on trial until the end.
Lordy, I'm pathetic!

IRIS also made me cry
alzheimer's disease taking over a brilliant mind, and watching her husband who adores Iris take care of her and still have the same emotions for her and gradually realize she has become diministhed into an infant state. Can anything be sadder???

Posted: 2/15/04 at 1:46amI just saw Life Is Beautiful last night and it is a tear jerker. It is a movie I recommend everyone to see. It is actually an italian film and is best viewed in the Italian with English subtitles. (Don't go for the badly dubbed English.) It is such an amazing story. The little boy's tank... aww it makes me all misty just thinking about it.

"Was Brian's Song originally called Bang the Drum Slowly? with michael moriarty and de niro?"
No, they were two different films. Bang the Drum Slowly was about baseball. Brian's Song was about Football.
Ckeaton, I also cried at Mr. Holland's Opus, when he walked in on that marvelous farewell for him put on by the students. It was a lovely moment.
Like dofB5, I also cried at The Ghost and Mrs. Muir -- at least three tissues!
I just watched Titanic last night, and that had me sobbing, not only at the end of the film, but earlier when the small band played "Nearer My God to Thee."
Sommersby with Richard Gere and Jodie Foster also gets me sobbing. I saw the film for the first time in Scotland -- I didn't know anything about it other than it was based on The Return of Martin Guerre. The tears started about 10 minutes before the end, and when I reached for a tissue, I found I had left them in my hotel room! I had to stifle the sobs too, as I was sitting next to some total strangers.
Somewhere in Time. One of the most beatiful, and sad love stories I have ever seen. Always 3-4 tissues!
Pride of the Yankees -- with Gary Cooper as Lou Gehrig. That final scene at Yankee Stadium gets me every single time.
Other films that make me cry --
Beaches
Schindler's List
ET
A League of their Own
An Affair to Remember
More, I'm sure but I can't remember them all.
Also, the first time I saw La Boheme (at the Vienna Opera House) I cried at the end. I also got a bit teary in Turandot.

How did I miss this thread?? It's already long but oh well, i'll add my useless comments:
A Walk to Remember
Pay It Forward
I was literally going into convulsions on the floor and sobbing uncontrollably during BOTH these films, but the sad thing is I already KNEW the way both movies ended! I thought that knowing about the deat hscenes would mean I wouldn't cry. I was wrong. Thank god I saw these at home and I wasn't in a public movie theatre!
Other than those two, I can list 100 others that make me sob! i'm a crier. But honorable mentions go A League of Their Own and Selena. I've seen both of these 20+ times and they STILL get to me. ::sniff:::
