"Andy Bell, Erasure; Amanda Palmer, Dresden Dolls; Jon Pierce, Elkland; Tanya Donnely; Holly Brewer, Humanwine; Ana Matronic, Scissor Sisters; Sarah Neufeld, Arcade Fire; Brendan Urie, Panic! At the Disco; and all four members of The Futureheads."
half of those are made up names, right? i think i have officially transitioned to the vh1 set. i'm old.
LOL feminist? Now that's one thing no one who knows me would ever call me! This is a first!
Let's stop playing games. I believe that Madonna is marginally talented. Yet she puts on a fabulous show, and yes, I repeat-is more talented than a lot of those young female wannabes I see on tv. Her charisma is a large part of what made her career.
I've been hearing the same insipid gripes about Madonna for the last 20 years. She's old news. Her career is over. She can't sing. She can't act. She's all shock, no talent. Blah... Blah... Blah... Well, guess what? SHE'S STILL HERE! And going strong, thank you very much. And not only is she still here, but as jerby has already pointed out, she's still here with the top selling concert of the year (perhaps the top-selling concert tour of all-time by a female performer), a multi-platinum album, and a net worth of more than half a billion dollars! She's accomplished more in the last year than most of you arm-chair critics will accomplish in your entire lives. So there!
As for NBC... forget it. Who wants to watch an edited version of the concert with commercial interruptions anyway? Especially when it'll, no doubt, be released on DVD a week or two later. I've waited this long to see it. I'll wait a little longer.

How about Warren Beatty in that movie - such an ego!

Wasn't he something?
And how about the finger gag when Kevin Costner left the room. He had THAT coming!

I don't really care one way or another for Madonna, and this story doesn't surprise me or anything, but I think people need to get over it. No one should care if "like OMFG she's on the cross and Jesus isn't!!!" It's just... dumb.
"How about Warren Beatty in that movie - such an ego"
Truth or Dare? Beatty sat there in the corner while Madonna had her throat examined and complained about HER ego!

He is so vain he probably thought that movie was about him.

yeah, i'm gonna need you to be more specific.

"Ray of Light, the spiritual album. Suffer, and get back to me." -- Sandra Bernhard.
Jane, I haven't known any woman born after my mother's generation who didn't proudly call herself a feminist.
Maybe I'm in your mother's generation! Just kidding, but there's always a first.

I think Madonna might be sad that you don't consider yourself a feminist. And of course, you could maybe find out if her husband still let her talk to her gay brother.
it's probably better this way.
I love Madonna and Sandra Bernhard--see I CAN swing both ways!!!!
the list of a has been
i'm totally starting the rumor that jane2 is namo's mother.
Haha, thanks for the laugh, RobbO. It woke me up! My eyes are closing -not because I'm tired-the lids are sagging from age!
" I think Madonna might be sad that you don't consider yourself a feminist. And of course, you could maybe find out if her husband still let her talk to her gay brotherI "
Why yes, she IS sad that I'm not a feminist. And yes, Guy lets her talk to her gay brother.

Not according to Rupert Everett. But whatever. Life is never easy for a woman on a cross.
"I don't care if you like madonna or not."
Yeah, you do.

Who knows, I made that up. You seem to be much more up on your Madonna info than I am.

"Who knows, I made that up."
Good to know.
Interesting thing about showing Madonna in closeup during the song so as not to show the offending cross, the crown of thorns will be even more visible.
