For all the "has-been" and "over" comments, Madonna just wrapped up the most financially successful tour in HISTORY.

She is tied with Elvis for the most #1s in HISTORY.

She is the highest-paid female entertainer in the world.

She has remained at the top of her game for over 20 years, without a drug habit (see: Whitney, George Michael, Boy George, on and on), without a complete meltdown (Hey, Mariah), and remains astoundingly fit (burp, Britney). How? Through HARD WORK. In our age of reality-tv insta-celebrity, most people ignore hard work altogether. What a shame.

I guess for some, it's easier to pick on her than to look at the sea of mediocrity that is pop music.

No, rath--I do not care if people like Madonna or not. The only things I have cared about are when false things are said or people post nasty, vicious things. This has been my stance on matters in general--not just regarding Madonna. But I'm a big Madonna fan, so I have often hit the threads when it was about her. And I have enjoyed debating her talents and accomplishments and whether or not she is over. There have been plenty of times she has been mentioned and not spoken of well on here that I haven't said anything. People are perfectly entitled to criticize her. It's about tone and facts.

And if you intend to mock me for that, you are a hypocrite as most everyone on here is passionate about something. But I find that often the same standards people demand of their fave, they won't hold for another's.

That's why the concert should be on HBO or Showtime (although, they've done a horrible job filming concerts that I've seen) and not on network TV. I hope a DVD of the full concert is released. Whatever happened to a DVD of the Reinvention Tour? I really liked that one.

"madonna has something to say.

So did The Monkees. They even said so in their theme song."

RuPaul only had one thing to say.

As far as the cross thing is concerned, didn't Marilyn Manson do the same thing ten years ago?

The cross thing wasn't offensive at all. Most of the people complaining probably didn't see it for themselves or have no idea of the context. They're just looking for something to get riled up about so they can play the usual poor victimized evangelical horsepucky. Then the same people will shout down CAIR, the ADL or GLAAD when they actually have a legitimate gripe.

People get worked up over nothing all the time. Just read the posts on BWW.

Just so people know, the Rolling Stones Bigger Bang tour is the most financially successful in history. For what that's worth.

The Stones' tour may have topped her's, but she's 47 and she's still going strong after 23 years. She can fart and make headlines.

Playing the devil's advocate, Luscious-the Stones are 150 and still going strong and they started way before Madonna.

I think they mean the highest grossing concert for a female act ever.
SHe broke all records for female artists.

also..

she is the highest earning money maker for the 2004 guiness book (beating Britney's record since 2000)...and that's not counting what she has made this year alone with the success of her tour and album.

Confessions on a dancefloor,..the album has charted at #1 in 41 countries this year.
That is also a guiness book record. The artists to reach no #1 in the most countries around the globe.

she is tied with elvis for the most top 10 singles in history..

and has charted 36 #1 dance songs on the Billboard charts another record (far ahead of 2nd place-Janet with 17)

has been?

I think far from it.

I just think that people are too quck to jump on her and criticize...instead of seeing the bigger picture.

The crucifixion scene was very touching and moving at her show. and its a shame that ignorant christ lovers who are leading a modern day crusade are attacking this with a vengance. it's a scary scary world nowadays. and its sad artists can't express themselves anymore. the pendulum needs to swing.

Madonna has been involved in this malawi thing for ages. but people don;t know that. they think she's out to shock or get controversy to stay in the headlines...but i know for a fact she has given so much of her time and money to so many charities and organizations that we never hear of..has befriended many people that were ailing of cancer, AIDS and so many other causes. it's a shame the media has shaped her to be this person she is not. and people are in it for the ride.

I ask anyone to try and accomplish and give only 10% of what Madonna has given over the years...and i applaud if you do. Everyone else should take a lesson or two.

and ultimaely,..she is one of the best entertainers of our time. she is defenitely entertaining at least...a trailblazer at best.

go do something for yourself now:

The father's feelings have so contradictory in the news. One place will say he regrets it. Another will say he is very happy.

I will say, though I obviously have no idea, that common sense would be that Madonna would bring David back to visit his birthplace and respect David's desire to know his birth father if he wants to. Wouldn't most parents (not all but most) do the same, economics allowing? I also doubt that Madonna would intentionally deceive David's father. That just doesn't ring true, expecially given that the world is watching.

While I don't think that Madonna would deceive the father, the government or whomever arranged the adoption there might. I don't know. I just feel bad for her. She has him with her and wants him to be her son. Hopefully it will work out for them. If the father were to demand his son back, it could mean a lot of trouble for her. Even if it works out, this will follow them forever.

well. Lourdes has a GREAT relationship with Carlos Leon and is totally in her life...even seen hanging out with Rocco.
So I'm sure little Davie will see his father from time to time.
and im sure madonna will keep him connected to his roots.
