Is anyone signed up for it? Do you think it's worth it? I've been considering getting a subscription, but I'd like to hear from some people that actually have it first. Do you think it's inconvenient to wait for the movies to actually come in the mail? Any information you could give me about your subscription would be great.

Thanks!

I like it. The wait is irritating though. I use it more for the streaming movies online.

Netflix is brilliant. The turnaround is super quick. Much faster than I would get my butt to a video store. Plus, I've found it to be quite economical. I pay for one of the cheapest options (1 at home, unlimited online) and usually end up watching 10 movies a month for the price of 2 rentals.

I don't think it's inconvenient at all. I've had netflix for several years now and have no complaints. Your subscription price varies on how many dvds you have at one time. Mine is set at three.

My only suggestion is to not send them back using your home mailbox - take them to your office or a public mailbox. We had a few stolen out of the mailbox when sending them back. Always early in the morning so it was either the guy who delivered the paper or kids walking to the bus stop.

ETA: I used to pay $20 or more a week at blockbuster. Now I pay $15/month.

I had no idea that they let you stream movies online. I wish I could look into it, but the website is down at the moment. How much is it per month? $15.00?

It depends of the amount of DVD you get a month. The max is 4.

"I had no idea that they let you stream movies online"

It's not all movies. Mostly ones that are in high demand.

I just upgraded to 3 DVDs a month (unlimited) and its 16.99 i think. And that includes all of the Watch Instantly stuff as well, which is one of the main reasons i got it because you can watch the Instnat stuff through the TiVo HD box.

because of that I've watched the offic, 30 Rock, the first 3 seasons of Dr. Who. 2 seasons of Dexter, 2 of Weeds.

There is a rarity where some TV shows will be available the day after they air through the watch instantly (one example is Harper's Island on CBS. all of the episodes were available the day after original air, and it seems that Big Brother may be doing that this year, as when i checked last night the season premiere was available.)

Netflix has given me the opportunity to reexamine many of the television shows that I loved as a child but wasn't sure if I would still enjoy them as an adult. So I get to watch the DVDs without buying them. A-Team, Dallas, Greatest American Hero, Knight Rider, and Moonlighting.

I've used it for going on 5 years. It usually takes only one day (ie picked up in the mail monday, get a new one wednesday) but sometime it takes longer. I think overall for the price it's definitely worth it. I used to get 3 at a time, now I'm down to 2.

Netflix is a good thing. We have the two-at-a-time, unlimited plan. That allows us unlimited instant viewings on any PC, and we have a device that allows us to watch instantly on our TV. So, except for the newer releases that are not available instantly, we can watch as many movies as we want.

Between the two of us, we have the four at a time plan for I think 19.99 a month. It's so worth it - we watch a lot of movies and compared to what we would pay at Blockbuster it's a huge savings. I haven't done much online watching, but for my part I usually go through 5-6 movies a month (including TV series discs) which totally makes it worthwhile.

I've been using Netflix for 4 years and it's only gotten better. If you're just starting out, I would suggest the 1 at a time unlimited plan. It's about $9 a month, for unlimited DVDs as well as unlimited streaming movies. That way, you can get a sense of your usage turnover rate with the movies before upgrading to 2 or 3 at a time, because it's easy to get overwhelmed.

best part is that there is no cancellation fee. if you don't like it after a month or 2 just cancel. i can't really think why anyone wouldn't like netflix. it's very simple, fairly quick, and they have some really good stuff to watch instantly.

I would highly recommend it. I've had it on and off for 7 years, and I have very few complaints. Like others have said, you can cancel at any time. You also are able to put your membership on hold for a month or longer, and it saves your list of movies and recommendations. A good trick if you want to get new releases... return the movie on Saturday. Then they'll get it on Monday and ship out the new release that day. Doesn't happen every single instance, but it's worked for me a number of times. Definitely a good value for the money too.

I have had Netflix for a long time. Since about 6 months after they started. The turn around time is great. From my office or home, if I drop off a movie, I have one back in 2 days. Another nice thing is that if a movie is in really high demand, they will send it to you from another shipping facility along with the movie you get that is available. I have had this happen twice this year.

One downfall is that not all of their movie descriptions are accurate. Also remember that if a movie has 2 discs, it counts as 2 rentals.

All in all, it is the best. I haven't been in a Blockbuster in 7 years. And if it snows or is really cold where you are in the winter, it is even better. You just go to your mailbox and get your movie(s).

Go for it!

You should also no that if a DVD is 2 disc, you don't have to get both.

Yes! Netflix is totally worth it. Gotta clear something up. With Netflix it's 3 DVDs at a time, not 3 DVDs a month. There is no monthly limit, you can just have 3 movies (or 2 or 4 depending on the plan you choose) out at a time. Turn around is super fast. Most times I've returned a movie I received my next movie within 2 or 3 days. It's easy to navigate and the selection you can watch online instantly is growing in leaps and bounds. I highly recommend nextflix.

I <3 Netflix passionately.

I've had it for probably 3 years now and definitely get my money's worth.

I have the 2 DVDs at a time plan, which ends up being about $15/month.

Turn around time is very fast. If I put a DVD in the mail to send back on Tuesday, my next DVD will be in my mailbox on Thurs. I also use the streaming online a lot when I'm in between DVDs.

It is definitely worth it!

I had it for awhile, but stopped because I was too busy to watch them. Actually, i'm thinking of starting it again. It's totally worth it, and you can suspend your subscription if need be.

I liked it for the tv shows, and the abundance of documentaries.
