Marianne, it's probably becoming a "whose homophobia is bigger?" contest among the politicians there the way the idiots in the last Republican presidential primary season seemed to want to outdo each other in their anti-gay, anti-woman xenophobic stupidity. Appealing to and promulgating people's basest selves really does everybody harm.
