I want to go back to Gaveston's point about wasting someone's time. I really don't think anyone needs to feel like they've intruded on someone's personal time if they respond to their Grindr ad. You're under no obligation to even respond if someone sends you a message, so I wouldn't be worried about wasting someone's time (any more than being on Grindr, Scruff and the like are already a time waster).
As for age, no I don't think it's quite the same thing as race, but I also don't get arbitrary delineations about age for the most part, either. I get it if I see someone who's 22 saying "No one over 30." That makes sense to me. When I see a 50 year old man saying the same thing, I can't help but roll my eyes. Personally, I usually like people around my age, but I've dated both people I thought were a little old and a little young for me.
Generally, I'm not normally a fan of blondes or redheads, but it doesn't mean I've ruled out every one on the planet on principle.
It's fine to believe you have a type and/or rigidly adhere to said type, but as I've and others have stated, when you're blanketly stating No Blacks, No Asians, etc, then you're sharing a pathology that sounds like it goes a lot deeper than your preferences for meeting a dude off a hook-up site. But, as I've already said, it's good for people like me to weed them out and I'm neither black nor Asian.
