"Korto may just have a naturally flat way of speaking and clearly isn't a perky person. I mean, she could be an utter evil wench, I don't know, but it could be partially editing."
But editing doesn't excuse her constant bitching throughout about how she couldn't understand how she didn't win her season, like this show would be the payback she deserves, etc. Editing wasn't responsible for the smirk she had no problem displaying when Sweet P was Auf'ed. Editing didn't make her complain--onstage after Daniel WON--about how she was number two and the bridesmaid again. Total bitch. Talented bitch, yeah, but a real sore loser. I thought Laura Bennett and Uli Herzner wiped the floor with Jeffrey during his season, but they showed some class and composure.
I completely admit that I thought Korto and Sweet P BOTH deserved to win over Daniel, but I felt some satisfaction at the fact that Korto lost due to her entitlement.

Oh dear, after watching the whole show, I'm saddened by Chris March's condition. He seems to have lost his "joie de vivre". I remember him as being full of life and funny. Now he seems sad, and certainly has no energy. His tongue is always out of his mouth when he breathes. Poor guy, I hope he does something soon to become healthier.
His collection reminded me of a winter city wardrobe for casual wear.

We had to get out the guide to find Lifetime last night.
Jane, I think Chris has gained about 150 lbs. Very sad.
I agree that Korto is a whiner.

Finally, I'm saying that I got some pleasure out of Santino losing.
After his early over the top self confidence, braggadoccio, and general annoying behavior, karma got him. And how ungracious a loser he was! First exclaiming he doesn't believe that one day you're in and the next day you're out (which, I'm sure, only applies to him), then stating that he's going to run into people who'll say he should have won, etc. etc. Never once did he show any humility or vulnerability.
It seemed like he was trying a little too hard to convince himself of his greatness.
He really turns me off a lot, if you can't tell~

Sorry, bitch or not, Korto had the best collection and should have won. Her restaurant dress was stunning. I also loved Uli's collection.
Personally, I love Sweet P but I hated her collection.
For season 6, the winning dress was beautiful.

Posted: 8/21/09 at 11:23amI see Chris all the time and he has gotten a lot bigger. I have a few ex-Runway contestants living in my neighborhood that I see a lot, including Kevin (the REEEALLY hot straight guy) from Season 4.

Remember the two guys who were seeing each other in the last season?
I was tickled when I saw them staring at my fabulous sunglasses one day in front of Housing Works!

Posted: 8/21/09 at 11:37amJane, I don't like Santino either. I wish they would have brought Andre back. He was hilarious. And I loved to hear Tim say "Aaaandreeeeee.....what happened to Aaaaaaaandreeee?"

I watched the show with an open mind, remembering Santino was "interesting" during his season.
However, from what they aired, I find him extremely unlikeable.
the one plus-he did do a spot on imitation of Tim.

Posted: 8/21/09 at 11:48amI never laughed so hard as when they did the reunion show for that season and they did the "Andre" montage. Crying with laughter.

I just always take these shows with a huge shaker of salt, because between the editing and the fact that they sit the people down for hours of "confessionals" and pick out the parts that are more "dramatic," and I'm sure some of them are playing themselves as a certain character in the hopes of more air time, these people are hardly under natural conditions... that said, I'm not disagreeing that Korto did not come off well.
I was never a Santino fan. He's an interesting "character," but his designs never really seemed to back up all his big talk.

Now I'm just speculating here, but if Chris was sleeping a lot, I wouldn't doubt he suffers from a severe case of sleep apnea, especially since he's so heavy.
I'm glad Santino was on the bottom four and that Diane von Furstenburg called his collection vulgar (which it was).

I'm so happy for the winner of the first challenge of the long-awaited season 6! I love his bravery in fulling admitting he doesn't always know what the others are talking about and that he doesn't know what everything is called or how to do it.
In the end, I can't see him getting very far because of that, but its refreshing to see such raw talent and drive!

My quick thoughts
ALL STAR CHALLENGE
Santino is still a prick, but I actually liked his line.
Daniel is cute as ever.
Korto should have won.
SEASON 6:
I agree with the winner and loser
Logan is my new TV crush, but with my luck he'll be the a**hole of the show.
This is a talented group of designers

Posted: 8/23/09 at 10:57amI just finished watching the first episode of the new season. I don't really care about the show. The only thing I could think was Mitchell could measure my inseam anytime he wants to.

I swear I'm not shilling Project Rungay by referring to them all the time, but they really are the best source of pictures, screengrabs, and commentary.
Anyway, Chris March posted a comment over there regarding his health:
Hi Everyone--I don't know if it's appropriate for me to comment here, but I would like to say a couple of things about the show:
First, thanks to everyone for your praise of my collection--it is very flattering and means a lot to me! The show had incredibly tough circumstances this time, and I was lucky to get anything done...
About the sleeping...a few things colluded to make me extremely sleepy during the filming.
1) I got approximately 3 hours of sleep a night, less the night before the runway.
2) The first day of filming, I got a bad case of food poisoning at lunch (which they conveniently edited out) that made me very weak and dehydrated.
3) I am diabetic, and on a new medication that makes me very, very sleepy. It just can't be helped.
4) Yes, I have sleep apnea, have been diagnosed and have a CPAP machine. Unfortunately, the other circumstances of participating in the show overwhelmed any sleep I actually got.
5) Then, to top it all off, I went home after the final interview and went to bed, and woke up the next morning with a terrible case of the flu (which I must have been catching during the last days of filming).
PLEASE know that I try to take care of myself (yes, I am painfully aware that I really need to lose weight) and go to the doctor every 3 months to monitor my diabetes. I have made great progress with it since being on Season 4 (I was then insulin dependent, and no longer need it).
Thanks again for all your lovely compliments, and you can visit or email me any time on my website at www.chrismarchdesign.com.
Sincerely,
Chris March

New episode right now.
I like this challenge, certainly more exciting then last week.

I like that none of these designers so far are over the top in the personality department.
Wow, I'm shocked by that elimination. Not the person I really expected.

Posted: 8/27/09 at 10:59pmWow, I guess they shot this season about a year ago. Rebecca had the babies in Dec.

Ooof, I thought... *SPOILERS*
Malvin's first dress wasn't pretty, but it was very reminiscent of my favorite collection for this season.
I'm glad Mitchell isn't gone, because I like his aesthetic and kind of want to pinch his cheeks (while doing much worse to him).
I guess I have to go over the remaining designers' past portfolios to figure out who designed what collection!
