Just the Zionists who masquerade as tolerant, similar to the board members here who do likewise.

I am well on record as saying f--k tolerance.

Also, what does "proclaiming the rainbow" mean?

Kad just as I thought you could provide no examples of your lies. Just generalizations that you try and twist. And omg you're offended by a women saying if you were born a woman you'd understand! you're as looney as that lady at disney who accussed the White Rabbit of racism cuz he wouldn't take a pic with her black children. Wow....you were better off insulting my texting skills. At least with that you had some basis. Lmfao

...I, uh, actually provided three specific examples. In this thread alone.

Your statement about if we were BORN (emphasis yours) women we'd get it. Meaning.. what? You consider us women that weren't born women? I mean, it's hard to tell what you mean in general, considering I've seen cats walk across a keyboard and produce a more coherent string of letters.

^^ Ha! That's so true.

Sue, I never admitted I called you a hooker. Perhaps you could back that up with a bit of your much-vaunted example provision? I mean, I actually think you might have a better understanding of humanity if you had been a Russian hooker instead of a spoiled character on a message board.

Honestly suestorm your arguing is petulant. When I first got in this board I butted heads a few times with a lot of notables here and it was largely because I was an immature kid who thought my opinions outweighed their opinions and even experiences. I was not just arrogant but pretty damn condescending too. For example, and I still don't know why I did this, but I defended the Obama administration's pretty pathetic early dealings with gay rights that rightfully was being challenged on this board. I came off looking foolish and had to learn from it to actually be considered somebody who could be engaging and taken seriously on this board.

I still disagree with people, Namo and I have disagreed recently with movies and TV shows and such. The key difference between how I engaged now and back then is that I respected their opinions and their experiences while articulating my own in a way that does not attack others.

It is not just Kad's point that such a post reads as transphobic (will not get into that because I don't want to go too off-topic), it also is a petty statement seems to undermine whatever defense of Thatcher you were going for. That only Thatcher's legacy could properly be put into perspective only from a woman's perspective. MP Glenda Jackson's recent statement is just in a long line of perspectives that remain fiercely anti-Thatcher regardless of being the same sex & gender as she was. My mother is a complete second-wave feminist despite not reading a word of say Firestone or Butler or Dworkin. She is all about equality and more representation of women in politics and the workplace. When I was humming, "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" while folding laundry a couple of days ago her response was, "Oh, so you heard Thatcher died too." I was humming that because of that news.

She did not condemn me for doing that despite being a career woman in the heart of the Reagan-Thatcher era where glass-ceilings were the word. She was more into Tess McGill and any role Cher or Dolly Parton played in movies at the time.

There's been a lot of talk in the Thatcher press about how responsible she was for "rescuing" the USSR from communism, but many seem to think she's canonized to a ridiculous degree in those countries, giving her far too much credit. (Of course, some of her fans, don't think that.)

Here's a written and audio piece from some British gay guy or whatever who wrote a book called Maggie and Me about the odd mix of how many gays at the time held her as a camp icon, while hating her policies. (I have no idea what these "**** bows" she liked to wear were, but the image has me shuddering.)

Strummer sure i liked her was because she was a powerful woman . I don't apologize for that. I also like her role ending the Cold War which is important to me. Maybe not to you or others but so what. What I can't stand is this bully group of mean girls and I'm not the only one to say this {and before kad blows another fuse that has nothing to do with sex orntion just the movie where a small gruop bullies the rest of the school} here who admittingly by namo are not toleerant of any dissending voices which is very hypocritical in my view.

No one is going to bully me into submission or tell me I'm not allowed. Or call me a racist or homophobe because I don't follow goosestep with what they say is PC
And kad you would've cut and pasted any examples if you had any. I will not apologize for saying communi sukks no matter who runs it or being a girl allows you to feel diff about things then being born a boy. Leave your issues and paranoia at the door.

That's it. I'm done. insult me among yourselves. I have a life outside this message board. Ciao

Then how about celebrate Lech Walesa and the Solidarity movement among the trade-unions that did more for the public drive to end the Cold War. Celebrate the Pope. Celebrate Kieslowski and Wajda and other artists who faced an immense amount of censorship to their works that gave their countries a human face.

You still are ignoring and not even accepting the other-half of her legacy that is an entirely legitimate one if you want the UK reaction because you know, they lived under her.

To say the Cold War was important to you and you alone on this board is ignorant. Many people on here had family members who were involved in the Cold War effort. I had relatives in strictly Cold War entanglements such as the Korean War and Vietnam War. I already mentioned that my father was in the military academy and was a fellow cadet with the son of one of the leaders of a military junta in Nicaragua who was in power solely because he was anti-communist and the US supported him for that. I hate to break it to you but the West's involvement in anti-communism and the Cold War had much more to do with paranoia, global influence, corporatism, and hegemony.

Saying just because she was powerful and a woman is incredibly single-minded. It would be like saying you liked JFK because he was powerful and Roman Catholic. There has to be more dimension than that and public persona, specifically policy and policy that is not conflated with myth.

And P.S. Kad was talking about gender identity, you idiot!

'So, back to Margaret Thatcher...

While I can appreciate her success as a woman in a male dominated political apparatus, I still disagree with many of her policies.

I do find it ironic that at this time of government austerity that the UK has the funds to pay for a lavish ceremonial funeral. You would think that with her history, the private sector would be more than happy to foot the bill. Or better yet, the could sell ad space on her casket.

Even with her family asking for a ceremonial as opposed to a full "head of state" funeral - the procession will cost the UK Taxpayers in excess of 10M Pounds.'

Thank God someone brought this back on topic, all the bitching on here is absurd, especially since most on here probably never had any dealings with her politics in the first place. Sue admires her, many don't including myself (though as i say i can appreciate she was a strong woman in a man's world and worked harder than any prime minister since, yet also made a lot of mistakes). It's good everyone has their own opinions about her, so they should, politics divides, it gives people a voice, no need to start throwing dirt at each other on here (leave that to the politicians themselves)

Youwantitwhen?

I agree its absurd that that much money is going in to her funeral that we will have to foot the bill for. Since Cameron took office the country has gone to hell with cuts everywhere (NHS, Arts etc). Maybe they should have taken the money out of the hefty amount the politicians spend on their houses, cars and hookers.

The fact as well that the politicians who are abroad at this moment (which seems to be a lot of them) can claim back £3,750 for flying back early for the funeral is ABSURD.

I also think the minutes silence they are planning for her before the Liverpool football game this week.....2 days before the anniversary of the Hillsbourgh disaster is a terrible idea, so many will break that silence as people have a lot of unanswered questions about the government at the time to do with the cover up.

She should have a big funeral of course she was the PM of our country for many years and has a lot of supporters on the right, but the amount and who will be paying is wrong.

By the way, strummer, you grew very rapidly into a fine and interesting poster. AND your non-syllogistic reasoning brought about what so many here hoped for: the resignation of the suestorm character. Apparently it was only something someone who was BORN a woman can do, and thank the goddess for it.
