Actually, people have listed plenty of ways Thatcher and Reagan behaved evilly during their reigns. When presented with these facts, you either choose to ignore them or dismiss them. When shown pictures of people in Britain not joining this charade of lionization of Thatcher you mocked them as "radicals" and "have nots." You're the person who accuses anybody who disagrees with your simple political analyses as spreading hate. And yet you have no problem making fun of poor people. POOR PEOPLE!

Yet when songanddanceman laid out the issues even more plainly for your understanding you said you didn't know how horrible she was to gay people, to pick just one of the glaring examples, and gee that's too bad but hey you believe she was tangentially connected to the fall of the soviet union so all is forgiven and now you can go back to gay baiting other posters, but in your weak mind that's okay because you have NEVER ever said anything mean unless somebody picked on poor sweet understanding you first.

And finally, when I said f--k tolerance, you know full well I was not speaking for others, I was speaking for myself. And because you are hopelessly literal minded I forgot to explicate as if I was talking to a third grader for you. F--K tolerance. It doesn't go far enough. People tolerate you, suestorm, and mosquitoes, because there's apparently nothing that can be done about the blood suckers. I don't give a crap about tolerance because it's too wishy-washy and once again, I know several of us have explained this to you, people who stand up against intolerance are not suddenly intolerant for doing so. But since you have learned to immediately play the victim card when backed into a corner and unable to get yourself out, that's where we always find ourselves, isn't it?

I've written numerous times about censorship in both Iran and the then USSR-controlled Poland.

And in life experience, are you saying you grew up in the era of when Thatcher and Reagan supposedly took down the USSR with their tough talk? You should really have much better grasp of policies and their positions then.

I say Reagan and Thatcher are evil because they installed this state of mind that is anti-empathy, anti-charity, anti-social justice, and frankly, as already stated by Roscoe earlier in the thread, not so very Christian. If my grandmother had eight children with a man who out of the blue leaves her and her getting food stamps while working three different jobs demonizes her as somebody 'who put it on herself', that is a toxic environment created by those two leaders that you consider your heroes.

You say you're okay with us who did not like her but you also call us 'lefties' in derisive terms and that all criticism against her comes from a leftist perspective. Frankly, I am not that much of a leftist and if I appear to be a leftist to you that is because Reagan and Thatcher were a major part of moving the goal post to the right. Frankly, Teddy Roosevelt (a progressive conservative who did not mind imperialism) would look like a Sandinista today.

You also bring up personas. You fell in with both of them because of personas. Their public personas are not necessarily who they really were. Many people knew Reagan was not that religious despite aligning with the most outspoken fundamentalists in the country, is one example. The same is true for people that those of the center-left (and even people on the right) look at JFK and RFK. Martin Luther King's persona now is actually pretty milquetoast in what is taught about him in public schools than who he really was.
