I'm really disappointed with the people who went home this week. Melissa and Evan are far and away the weakest dancers in the competition. They're both fantastically talented, but in a very limited genre. The fact that Evan wasn't even in the bottom two this week is laughable. Melissa has been able to adapt well enough to other styles, but the fact that she wasn't in the bottom two this week is entirely due to the emotional terrorism of the breast cancer dance.
Jason, gorgeous and talented as he is, was always on the edge of being sent home, but Janette has demonstrated extraordinary skill in adapting her relatively limited background to other styles. As a salsa dancer, her solos always lacked a certain cohesion, because... well, you DON'T dance a Latin solo, but her most recent solo really showed an incorporation of contemporary techniques into her natural style. Putting her against Kayla, who has some of the most perfect technique I've ever seen on this show, of course she was going to go home, but it makes me sad that the voters chose to send her to the bottom two after all the phenomenal dancing she's done.

I'm at a loss for the fact that Janette went home. I thought for sure she and Brandon would be the final 2. My Final 4 are Janette, Jeanine, Brandon and Ade (not in any sort of order)
I'm in absolute shock.

OK, I wanted to start a thread, and couldn't see a way to under the current configuration. Are we just supposed to 'give up and go home'?
Well I'm not a dancer so I can just say what I think based on an observer's point of view. Janette's solos seem to be all the same to me. I really wasn't surprised to see her go.
Katie Holmes - meh.
The whole show disappointed me. I had a feeling that Katie would be a bit disappointing. Her voice sounded better than it has in the past, but they didn't really make her dance. I blame part of that on Tyce. Challenge her...she could have done more. But they only featured a couple past favorite routines, they didn't talk to any of the former dancers to tell us what they're up to...it was just blah. And THEN...Janette!?! Really?!?! So disappointed.
I actually think they did a lot for only an hour show.

I loved Ramalama even more this time around as hottie Wade Robson was in it. Has he always been such a hottie? Yummo!
The weakest top 4 that I remember. I want Jeanine to win...then Brandon....then Kayla....then Evan
With the exception of Evan, I do not find this top 4 weak at all. Jeanine, Kayla, and Brandon are all powerhouse dancers. I'm excited for the finale!
I think it's just that I am not a fan of this season.
Granted, I think Jeanette should have won.
Something about Kayla just rubs me the wrong way. I want Jeanine to win really badly!

How in the world did Evan make it to the top four?! I mean he's sweet, I love it when he does his OWN style, but REALLY? Is Evan really better than Ade?!
My mind is boggled... but besides him, this is bascially what I imagined the top four to be.
Ballet is my passion so Melissa was my favorite...So happy she went so far in the show...

I think American got it wrong putting Evan in the final.
Brandon has been my favorite since the auditions, and I knew it was going to make it to the finals. SO GLAD. He should totally win.
How Evan is in the final is beyond me. With his "aw shucks" expression which seems glued to his face and the "penguin arm" positions has me completely baffled.
I'm a little surprised by Evan being in the finale as well.
I'm very disappointed with Evan in the final. He's technically a great dancer...but I don't feel him connected to the work. He's too 'presentational'. I've so tired of his hamminess (sp?) and mugging.
I'm a big Janine fan. She just seems so real and connects to almost everything she's performed.
Looking forward to next weeks finale.
PS....anyone else suprised how few injuries the dancers seem to experience during the run of the season? (Not just this year, but always....I'm sure that most of them upon STARTING the series were not putting in so many hours of dance.)
I'm disappointed that Ade's not in the finals, but I don't think it's all that surprising that Evan is. He's obviously had a huge fanbase from the start. I like him and think he's a good dancer, but definitely not as strong as Ade and Brandon.
I think the top two girls were an obvious choice. Melissa is a great dancer, too, though. I LOVE Janine. LOVE HER. She's been my favorite to win for a while now. I love her strength and style. I do think this is a pretty talented group of dancers, though. Should be a fun finale.
Does it seem like they're really repeating use of the choreographers this season? It's been a little Mia. A lot of Tyce and a TON of Tabitha and Napoleon. There's been a couple new people which is nice, but where are some of the choreographers from seasons past???
Not surprised that Ade went home this week, as both his couple dances were rather weak, and I never connect to his solos (way too much disjointed movement).
Evan really shines during his solos and shows more personality there than in his duos. I think it's his "every man" appeal that has kept him in the game. He's like the neighbor that you go to see in the community theatre productions (only, perhaps, a bit more talented).
Sorry to see Melissa go, as she has consistantly been one of my favorites.
Though, there is something about Kayla that I absolutely love.
However, my overall favorite is, and has been, Brandon. This guy is a powerhouse solo and partners very well. I loved both Brandon and Kayla's dances on Wednesday.
What about the Send in the Clowns number? I liked it, but it seemed too litteral for me to go beyond "like".
Last week's Mia Michael's One number, on the other hand, was stunning for me. Could you image the recent revival of A Chorus Line with her choreography? That gave me chills. The revival left me pretty cold, as I would rather have seen something new and exciting, than the embalmed choregraphy and staging that was presented on Broadway.

Yeah, I was a little underwhelmed by the Clowns number.
Kayla FTW. Just a stunning, stunning dancer. Next in line should be Jeanine, then Brandon, then Evan.
I don't understand why Evan is in the top 4. It should have been Jason. I also think Jeanette should have been there instead of Jeanine (even though I love Jeanine). I wanted Kayla and Jeanette to win equally.
Kayla and Jeanine are definately my top 2, and I'm so torn between who I would love to see win. Kayla, as Mia said, is perfection. She just makes everything look so easy. Jeanine is a fighter. She works her butt off at everything and it's obvious she has an amazing passion for dance. According to fox.com/dance, they both just turned 18 in January. It absolutely blows my mind that people so young are such amazing professional performers.
Honestly...the only one that would "disappoint" me by winning would be Evan.
