Posted: 9/1/08 at 10:20pmI seriously think the Dems need to pull a Carl Rove/ swift boat on this situation...have an "outside" person have a commercial about the situation...it's low and dirty but if the the situation was reversed the tv would be full of non stop press coverage and political ads out the butt....

And this is the family that McCain should be one heart beat from living in the White House.
Will Putin be invited to the wedding?

"I'm sorry to hear this, but I have every confidence they can handle this]," he said. "Just like children should not pay for the sins of the parents, the parents should not pay for the transgressions of the children."
Seriously? SERIOUSLY?

According to Politico McCain's camp is still vetting candidates for the VP. When asked why they are vetting when they already have a VP the spokesman for McCain said, "No comment".
So, some bloggers are speculating that Sarah Palin will not be the VP choice due to the poor/weak reception she has received. Anyone want to wager Joe Liebermen or Pawlenty or even Romney replace her? Of course, no matter what McCain does at this point he is screwed.Thoughts?

"Levi has got huge potential," Jennie Johnston said. "He's a smart kid."
Bristol told me he's got huge something, but I don't think she was referring to his potential.

Posted: 9/1/08 at 11:09pmDottie, all I mean is...in one weekend, Sarah Palin has as many threads as about her as Ms. LuPone has gotten in all the years BWW has existed!

Posted: 9/1/08 at 11:18pmDo you think it's possible that McCain's people knew it was gonna be a trainwreck and announced her so they could say, "See? Our first choice was a WOMAN! We care about sexual equality! It just didn't work out?"

Dottie, you certainly couldn't have thought I meant any of the following:
A) Sarah Palin is as talented as Ms. LuPone (HA! "Talent? To be the governor of Alaska, you need more than no talent. You gotta have an IDEA!" Probably because no one else in Alaska has ever had one.)
B) There is much debate over the "charms" each woman brings to their respective professions (because there is universal agreement on the board that Sarah Palin is a boil on John McCain's rear end.)
or
C) Just as Ms. LuPone was a shoo-in for the Tony Award, Ms. Palin is walking away with the title "Vice President of the United States" in November!
P.S. Really not making fun of the great state of Alaska. I'm sure it's a lovely place. Cold. Barren. Dark. But lovely just the same.

Posted: 9/1/08 at 11:30pmJRB, I do not see any chance of SP being the choice. Does she leave out her daughter in the picture moment after the speech? Do the repubs cheer teen pregnancy? This choice will not stand.

I still maintain that McCain's window of opportunity to replace her is closing quickly. Many states set a deadline for ballot access and most issue absentee ballots 6 weeks in advance.
Considering how the GOP fought to keep the Libertarian ticket off the PA ballot McCain does not want to go there.
The Libertarian ticket is still out there for disaffected fiscal conservatives and anti-Palinistas.

If McCain picks a new VP (or of Palin drops out over 'family issues')Won't that STILL make him look bad? Like he made a poor choice? Like he caved under pressure? Bush took so much heat for the Harriet Miers mess and the similarities between the two are amazing.
I think McCain will pick a safer VP like Liebermen or Romney. If things keep on going the way they are going now, she WILL NOT be on the ticket by the end of the week. I sort of wish this all would have broken a little later. If McCain replaces her and gets a REAL VP choice, it could be bad for us Democrats.
