Wayne Campell also made fun of Chelsea's looks saying "She wouldn't give a dog a bone." Hillary was on the phone with NBC and SNL and the next week both Mike Myers and Dana Carvey made an on air apology.

I love how Alaskans are really turning on this lady. A person called in to some show on CNN today and made the good point that yeah, she has an 80 % approval rating--but she did give every Alaskan in the country 1600 dollars to help with energy costs, and Alaska still apparently has the highest gas prices in the country even though they're right next to the line!

And what's all this about her fighting big oil? Her husband WORKS for big oil.

Her mother in law is apparently voting for Obama. Her husband also isn't a Republican.

Wayne Campell also made fun of Chelsea's looks saying "She wouldn't give a dog a bone."

That guy must be blind, I was face to face with her late last year and couldn't disagree more with his assessment.

EDIT- I just now realize that that is an SNL character, I'll withdraw my ill-informed statement.

I'm going to go get some coffee so I can wake up and be a bit more cognizant of what I'm reading.

Everyone is falling all over themselves to say "stand back, hands off her kids!" The Huffington Post is full of pundits terrified that the Palin family will be overly scrutinized. This is a woman selected and touted for being a role model mother, an advocate of traditional values, whose track record as a mom and parent is being presented as criteria for her ascendency to the 2nd highest job in the nation.

And as someone pointed out, she has been carefully handled since Friday -- no news conference, no appearance on the Sunday talk shows, nothing but kid glove treatment. Then, in the middle of a hurricane she issues a written statement about her daughter's pregnancy? And we are supposed to quietly back off, and, per the bile-spewing Rev. Dobson and others, give her "privacy"?

No, she is the SELF-IDENTIFIED poster child for a party who has made "the private" the political. She deserves nothing LESS than TOTAL SCRUTINY BY ALL OF US. Every moment in her life needs to be examined, including her insane decision to take this all or nothing position when she has not one but two challenging children at home. Instead, we're told she's an "example" on how to "juggle" career and family. Meanwhile, the nation and her troubled children suffer.

In my opinion, it's fair to discuss the information with respect to Palin, McCain, and the Republican party and not the daughter. It's fair to ask how effective their 'abstinence only' education policy is working. It's fair to ask if, in 2008, it's still "the right thing" for teens to get married because of pregnancy. It's fair to ask if the Republican party would be so supportive if Obama's daughters were older and one of them were pregnant.

Damn, CNN's Campbell Brown was taking the McCain spokesperson to task just now regarding Palin's decision to subject her daughter to the national spotlight and lack of foreign policy experience. I haven't seen a journalist go at a guest so hard in a while.

I saw it too. The McCain spokesperson was Tucker Bounds, and Campbell Brown made a fool of him. It was definitely an "Emperor's New Clothes" moment.

So was it Campbell Scott or Campbell Brown? Also, I think it's kind of funny that you think Campbell Brown is a journalist.

So, if you think Campbell Brown is not a journalist, then doesn't that make Tucker's performance even more pathetic? Funny how someone who is persistent and actually requires answers to her questions not to be a journalist.

The written reveal of this family "opportunity" on the day a hurricane making landfall in NOLA suggests a very naive mindset. Governor Palin will hardly escape scrutiny assuming the winds in the gulf will blow this out of her sphere. She will have to have a public or private "wedding," after all, and the shotgun variety hardly inspires a STYLE network approach to veils and trains.

Well, Gustav is now over. We have a few days before Hannah strikes. So, what do we talk about? HOPEFULLY, after being off for the long weekend the tabloids start digging. I hope they search those hospital records and tell us why Sarah's baby who was born on the 18th of April is not listed. I hope a lot of these unanswered questions will be answered. I hope they find a HUGE story in Sarah Palin. They went after John Edwards, with good reason. However, he was not running for office when the story/scandal broke. This could be the story the Enquirer has been waiting for. Palin has dropped plenty of bread crumbs. Lets hope they follow.

There is real news here about that woman and it has nothing to do with her reproductive organs nor her daughter's.

The Republicans are telling you Palin is qualified but they just can't tell you why. If you press, they get testy and pissy and defensive.

Yeah- I saw many of the interviews tonight. Campbell asked Tucker to give one example where she used her foreign policy experience- he could not come up with one! Then on Larry King- Larry asked some Republican woman- sorry couldn't remember her name because my blood is still boiling- if she believed in her opinion if Sarah was the best choice. She said John McCain chose her and that she would stand behind her. Again, Larry pressed her and asked her the question again. She never once said that she believed she was the best pick. Then all the other Rep women were saying that there wasn't anything one with Sarah's daughter having a child because she is choosing life and the family is so supportive. Well then, hell, let's not worry about teenage pregnancy at all. As long as the girl decides to keep her baby- she will be a martyr- Just sayin'

As I said in a previous post, this would be an outrage if it was one of Obama's daughters (if older) or if Chelsea had gotten pregnant while the Clinton's were in office. It would be immoral, their ability to parent would be called into question, and I'm sure many choice words from Fox news would be widespread.
I think it is stupid to play nice and ignore what is being revealed. Why do always have to take the high road then lose an election. There would already be commercials out about this if the tables were turned.
The GOP/right wing nutjobs standing behind them because she was brave for not having an abortion. Please...
