Shame on all of you for not doing your own research before barking.
Actually, she's still listed as a performer on the inaugural '05 website.
P.S. I think she should perform especially because I'm going on a field trip to see that program.

It says in Newsweek that she is performing. And they spelled her name wrong!
Sorry if someone already posted this.
I just wanted to say to everyone who is bashing Bush and the money he is using to pay for the Inauguration. This money was raised PRIVATELY, meaning they did not use government money. It was their own money they used, so you shouldn't criticize them for that.

I'm sorry if I've got this wrong, but I was under the assumption that there were a couple of million AT LEAST coming out of the Dept. of Home.land Security's budget.
No, no. Kristin donated a couple million of HER own money.
Did she perform yet?
Wait, wait, wait... IS she going to perform today? I was under the impression that she wasn't going to participate in the ceremony anymore.

She was scheduled to perform, yesterday. I've no clue whether or not she (or who) did.
The NY Times did not mention in her name in the wrapup of yesterday's event. Once again, according to her website, she was NOT singing in D.C. this week.

She cancelled the performance.
I think it's safe to say there too much backlash and they cancelled her performance for damage control. I just wonder if the postponement of Alice in Wonderland has anything to do with all of this?

What backlash? Outside of this board, I hadn't heard a single thing about it.

it's been on a few boards/groups, the internet in general.
According to someone on one of the other threads, she said she had gotten death threats...I'd cancel too.
Death threats??? People are really f*cked up.

Death threats???!!!! If that happened to me, I'd have been incentivized to do it, and sing an extra number or two, just as an FU to those nuts!
Interesting perspective feodor, the sad thing is... the death threats probably came from some of her old "fans" from this board. Look at the board, there is 12 pages of "Shame on Kristen"

Death threats?? That didn't stop Streisand, that didn't stop Diana Ross. That didn't stop Patti LuPone (she made them, she didn't receive them). Chenoweth will never be a diva if she can't handle a few death threats.
Well, I hope you all feel stupid now!
I can't believe that there would be death threats... but extremists (of all kinds) are crazy, and irrational.
Robert, I love you and all... but do you suggest that the inaguration be cancelled or held in a broom closet? Because I think grousing about the security budget being gov't money is a bit of a stretch.

Shame on YOU. How dare you pass that kind of judgement on someone you don’t even know. May I remind you that Kristin also performed for Clinton when he was president and sang at Hilary Clinton’s birthday party. She’s a singer. If someone hires her to sing, she does it. It’s called a job. She’s not trying to make a political statement. Also, the event she was scheduled to perform at included both Democrats and Republicans. She did not sing at his actual inauguration .Unlike so many other singers (Barbra Streisand for example), Kristin doesn’t talk about her politics in interviews, so she’s obviously not trying to force her politics on anyone. Her best friend is gay and she’s been featured in many gay magazines where she mentions several times that she does not judge homosexuals and does not believe they are going to hell. Republicans in general do not hate gays. Of course there are people out there who do and they give their party a bad name, but I assure you the majority of the party is not like that. I go to a musical theater school where about 70% of the guys are gay and I treat them the same as I would anyone else.
If I stopped buying the CDs of every celebrity that I knew was a Democrat, I wouldn’t have many CDs. So I choose to like a singer for their voice, regardless of their political association. Kristin Chenoweth is an incredibly sweet and loving person with amazing talents. Every time I have spoken with her she has shown me what a terrific person she is.
It seems like you’re the judgemental one.
Oh, for the love of Garland, can we let this go! This samiam person probably doesn't even post here anymore. BB3, believe me, you don't want open this can of worms.
NO why is this back??

It's back because BB3 did what all of you keep telling people to do before starting another thread about Kristin, Idina, Wicked, et al.
BB3 used the SEARCH function.
