I have not yet heard that statement made on any news media. BTW -- right now, she is NOT listed as an employee of the school.

They say that the shooter had another altercation at the school earlier that week. And that he forced his way in, was not "let in".

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I heard it, and perhaps she's not listed as an employee at that school because she left that job, as I heard. I don't think we have all the facts and may never.

It is hard to understand the AbbyNormal's of this country, but their numbers are vast.

This statement I saw on a conservative page scares me because I can see no way of changing the mind of the person who posted it:

There were two guns responsible for the deaths yesterday. One was the gun that killed the children and the other was the gun that wasn't there to stop it.

Undoubtedly, this is what Abby believes. How do the rest of us even begin to convince them that is so very, very, very wrong?

She was amazing.

I'm reading about the heroic teachers, and can only believe that they saved countless lives.

The teachers who lost their lives are heroes, too, as they saved lives while they lost their own.

Let's celebrate these incredible souls.

Here is a perfect example of where a gun saved many lives.

Connecticut is a state with very strict gun laws from what I heard, and this still managed to happen. What makes you think that taking away the guns from people who obey the laws in states with less gun control laws, that it's going to stop people like this from committing these heinous acts?

The movie theater in colorado was a "gun free theater." The mall in oregon where the shooting took place earlier this week was also the only "gun free mall" in the area. Why do you think they always go to places where they know no one will be armed? You don't see mass shootings in police stations or other places where everyone is armed.

Do you remember a few years ago the shooting in Norway where almost 70 people many being children, were killed? Norway has one of the strictest gun laws in the world, and when the shooter went to that camp and started shooting they had absolutely nothing to protect themselves with. If even one person had a gun there, they possibly could have taken him down, but no one did, because the law abiding citizens weren't allowed to own them and that gave him the opportunity to just go around killing everyone with no one being able to fight back.

It is possible that you are very very wrong. You've been wrong before I'm sure you'll be wrong again. Just because everyone on this board is on the same side doesn't mean any of you are right or that you know best about something you know absolutely nothing about. I've given you links with proof that guns save more people annually than kill them, and that when you take handguns away from the law abiding people, and the only people who are in possession of them are the bad guys, the murder rate goes up, just like in Chicago, where there is proof the murder rate went up after the banned hand guns.

Obviously I'm not the only one who believes this otherwise the laws would have been changed a long time ago.

I think diversity and multiculturalism have been wonderful for our country. Tonight I'm going to a party with my best friends, a gay couple where one guy is half-Asian and the other is half-Mexican. At least between the three of us that's two white people, right?

I am so touched by the teacher, Victoria, who hid her students in the cabinets and closets. When the shooter came to her room, she said they were in the gym. Then he shot her and moved on.

What a brave and caring woman. A Teacher!

I don't know why I'm answering your ridiculous question, but I posted a lot more on the theater board when I lived in NYC and went to shows on a regular basis. I don't know why you want to know my favorite musical, but it is probably The Producers. I grew up around theater, my dad worked for Shubert security for years and I grew up going to Broadway shows from the time I was about 6, which is why I go on this site, it's my favorite form of entertainment. I just don't have much to say on the theater board since I don't see broadway shows as much since I moved back to the west coast.

I just will post again to say maybe NRA members (not figure-heads or lobbyists) will finally realize what their organization represents and try for more internal debates on responsible gun ownership. I know a lot of gun-owners and NRA members (Upstate NY has its outdoor gaming) but they are not nuts. They do think there should be some restrictions like more restrictive background checks to make sure somebody not mentally incompetent won't be able to purchase a gun and many would never even think to buy the types of weapons that are often at the center of these tragedies, and are not entirely sure they should be on the market at all.

Don't remember where I saw this but there was a poll a few years ago done for NRA members and although they would not be confused with Carolyn McCarthy on issues of guns, they did support certain restrictions.
